Job Summary The Online Trauma Therapist provides specialized therapeutic support to clients facing trauma-related challenges. This role involves conducting virtual therapy sessions, creating individualized treatment plans, and helping clients navigate their healing journeys. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical expertise, empathy, and experience in trauma-focused therapies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Client Assessment and Treatment Planning
   • Conduct comprehensive virtual assessments to understand clients' trauma history and current mental health status.
   • Develop tailored treatment plans based on client needs and therapeutic goals.
   • Utilize evidence-based approaches to support trauma recovery and mental well-being.
2. Therapeutic Support
   • Provide individual therapy sessions via secure online platforms, fostering a safe and confidential environment.
   • Employ trauma-focused techniques such as EMDR, CBT, or somatic therapies.
   • Support clients in identifying and processing traumatic events while building resilience and coping strategies.
3. Crisis Management and Support
   • Offer immediate assistance and interventions for clients in crisis, ensuring their safety and stability.
   • Coordinate with emergency services or other mental health professionals when necessary.
   • Develop and implement safety plans for clients at risk of harm.
4. Progress Monitoring and Documentation
   • Maintain accurate and confidential client records, including session notes and treatment progress.
   • Regularly review and adjust treatment plans based on client feedback and therapeutic outcomes.
   • Utilize digital tools to track and report on client progress.
5. Collaboration and Communication
   • Work collaboratively with other mental health professionals, including psychiatrists and case managers, to ensure comprehensive care.
   • Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay updated on best practices and industry trends.
   • Provide resources and referrals to clients for additional support services as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

• Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field.
• Licensure or certification as a therapist (e.g., LMFT, LCSW, LPC) in the state of residence.
• At least 3-5 years of clinical experience focusing on trauma therapy.
• Proficiency in trauma-focused therapeutic modalities, such as EMDR, Trauma-Focused CBT, or somatic therapies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish trust and rapport in a virtual setting.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities to manage caseloads effectively.
• Familiarity with virtual therapy platforms and telehealth technology.
