Role Overview:

As a Remote Principal IT Consultant, you will provide high-level IT consulting services to clients, manage complex projects, and lead a team of consultants. You will act as a strategic advisor, providing technical guidance, developing solutions, and ensuring successful implementation. You will also contribute to the growth of the consulting practice by identifying opportunities for new services and improving the delivery of existing solutions. This role requires strong technical acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Client Engagement: Engage with clients to understand their business needs and IT requirements. Build strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor and providing strategic guidance on IT initiatives.
• Solution Development: Design and develop IT solutions that align with clients' business objectives. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, create technical roadmaps, and develop customized IT strategies.
• Project Oversight: I oversee the delivery of complex IT projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. I lead project teams, manage resources, and resolve issues that arise during project execution.
• Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and expertise across various technologies, including cloud computing, cybersecurity, data analytics, and enterprise software. Stay current with industry trends and apply this knowledge to client engagements.
• Team Mentorship: Mentor and support junior consultants, sharing best practices, providing guidance, and fostering a culture of learning and growth within the team.
• Digital Transformation: I lead digital transformation initiatives for clients, including cloud migration, IT modernization, and the implementation of emerging technologies. I help clients achieve their strategic goals through effective technology use.
• Risk Management: Identify potential risks associated with IT projects and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact. Ensure that all engagements adhere to industry standards and best practices.
• Collaboration: I will work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, software engineers, and business analysts, to deliver integrated IT solutions. I will foster a collaborative work environment that encourages innovation and problem-solving.
• Business Development: Support business development efforts by identifying new opportunities for IT consulting services, contributing to proposals, and participating in client presentations. Help grow the consulting practice by expanding client relationships and securing new business.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure that consulting engagements meet or exceed client expectations regarding quality, value, and timeliness. Implement best practices for project delivery, continuous improvement, and client satisfaction.
• Thought Leadership: Contribute to thought leadership initiatives by creating content, participating in industry events, and sharing insights on IT trends and technologies. Represent the consulting firm as a subject matter expert in technology strategy.
• Reporting and Metrics: Track and report on project progress, financials, and key performance indicators. Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders to support informed decision-making.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT consulting, including at least 3-5 years in a senior or principal consulting role. Proven track record of managing and delivering complex IT projects for clients.
• Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), cybersecurity, data analytics, and enterprise software solutions. Ability to provide strategic guidance on a wide range of IT topics.
• Project Management: Strong project management skills, with experience managing IT consulting engagements. Familiarity with project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall.
• Client Focus: Strong client engagement skills, focusing on delivering value and building long-term relationships—the ability to understand client challenges and provide tailored IT solutions that meet their needs.
• Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to lead and inspire project teams. Experience mentoring junior consultants and fostering a culture of excellence.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences. Strong presentation skills with experience delivering client workshops and presentations.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to develop creative solutions to client challenges and effectively address issues during project delivery.
• Certifications: Preferable certifications include PMP (Project Management Professional), ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
• Business Acumen: Strong business acumen, able to understand client's business challenges and develop technology solutions that add value. Experience working closely with senior executives and influencing business strategy.
