Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Remote Healthcare Cybersecurity Analyst to join our client’s cybersecurity team. The successful candidate will be crucial in safeguarding the organization’s healthcare systems and patient data from cyber threats. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cybersecurity, a thorough understanding of the healthcare industry, and experience managing the complexities of protecting sensitive health information. Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor the security of healthcare systems, networks, and applications to detect and respond to potential cybersecurity threats.
- Perform vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and threat analysis to identify weaknesses in healthcare systems and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Develop and implement security controls, policies, and procedures to protect patient data and ensure compliance with industry standards and healthcare regulations, such as HIPAA.
- Conduct risk assessments and threat modeling to evaluate risks to healthcare systems and sensitive health information.
- Collaborate with IT, compliance, and clinical teams to ensure cybersecurity measures are integrated into healthcare systems and workflows.
- Stay informed about emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices related to healthcare cybersecurity and apply this knowledge to enhance the organization’s security posture.
- Develop and maintain incident response plans to ensure timely and effective response to cybersecurity incidents involving healthcare systems.
- Monitor and analyze security logs, network traffic, and electronic health records (EHR) systems to identify suspicious activities and indicators of compromise.
- Guide secure system design and configuration to protect new and existing healthcare technologies against threats.
- Develop cybersecurity training programs and awareness campaigns for healthcare employees, focusing on safeguarding patient data and understanding cybersecurity best practices.
- Collaborate with external auditors, regulators, and third-party vendors to ensure compliance with healthcare cybersecurity requirements.
- Prepare detailed reports on security incidents, vulnerabilities, and risk assessments and provide actionable recommendations for improving security measures.
- Participate in integrating new healthcare technologies by conducting security assessments and ensuring appropriate controls are in place to protect patient data.
- Provide ongoing support to stakeholders regarding cybersecurity best practices, risk management, and compliance requirements in the healthcare context.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 4-6 years of experience in cybersecurity, preferably within the healthcare industry.
- Strong understanding of healthcare systems, electronic health records (EHR), and healthcare-specific cybersecurity challenges.
- Experience conducting vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk assessments of healthcare systems and applications.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, such as HIPAA, HITECH, and other relevant healthcare compliance standards.
- Proficiency in using security technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and encryption protocols.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify security risks, assess their impact, and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Hands-on experience with security monitoring and analysis tools, such as SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, remote environment.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in documenting risk assessments, reports, and recommendations.
Preferred Skills:
- Certifications include the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), and Certified Healthcare Information Security and Privacy Practitioner (CHISSP).
- Experience working with healthcare providers, hospitals, or other healthcare organizations.
- Familiarity with cloud security best practices, particularly within AWS, Azure, or other cloud environments.
- Knowledge of network security architecture, protocols, and best practices for securing healthcare systems.
- Experience in conducting security assessments for connected medical devices and healthcare IoT.
