Job Overview
We are looking for a remote pediatric transcriptionist to accurately transcribe medical reports and related documents for pediatric patients. In this role, you will work remotely and provide essential support to pediatricians, healthcare providers, and medical offices by transcribing dictations, converting voice recordings to text, and ensuring all transcriptions are clear, accurate, and professionally formatted. Your role will be crucial in maintaining patient records while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and adherence to medical standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Transcription Services: Accurately transcribe pediatric medical records, including physical examination notes, patient histories, clinical reports, and consultation notes from voice recordings or other audio formats.
• Proofreading and Editing: Review and edit transcriptions for clarity, grammatical correctness, and proper medical terminology. Make sure all documents meet the required quality standards.
• Maintain Confidentiality: When handling patient information, follow strict confidentiality protocols and ensure all records comply with healthcare regulations (HIPAA).
• Medical Terminology: Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, especially in pediatric care, including anatomy, diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and medical abbreviations.
• Collaboration: Work closely with pediatricians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to clarify any unclear dictations or ensure proper interpretation of patient information.
• Quality Assurance: Follow quality guidelines to produce error-free transcription within timeframes. Ensure all reports are accurate and meet the standards set by healthcare providers.
• Manage Priorities: Organize and prioritize transcriptions based on urgency and patient care requirements, ensuring prompt delivery of documents as needed by healthcare professionals.
• Documentation Standards: Format documents according to specific templates, styles, and guidelines the healthcare organization provides. Be attentive to formatting and ensure consistency throughout the transcribed records.
• Time Management: Maintain productivity by completing transcriptions promptly without compromising quality.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Medical transcription certification or training is a plus.
• Experience: At least 2 years of experience in medical transcription, with a preference for pediatric transcription.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of pediatric medical terminology, treatment protocols, and medical abbreviations.
• Typing Skills: Excellent typing speed (minimum of 60 words per minute) with high accuracy.
• Software Proficiency: Familiarity with transcription software, equipment, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel). Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems is preferred.
• Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail ensures complete and error-free transcription.
• Language Proficiency: Excellent command of the English language, including grammar, punctuation, and syntax.
