Job Summary:
Naukri Mitra is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Medical Transcriptionist to join our team. This position is ideal for professionals with substantial experience in medical transcription who are looking for a flexible, remote opportunity. You will be responsible for accurately transcribing medical records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and maintaining the confidentiality of patient information. As a Senior Medical Transcriptionist, you will play a key role in supporting healthcare professionals by providing precise and timely documentation of medical reports.

Key Responsibilities:

• Transcribe Medical Reports: Convert physician dictations into written reports with high accuracy. Types of reports include operative notes, discharge summaries, medical histories, clinical notes, and diagnostic test results.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure all transcriptions meet the highest grammar, clarity, and completeness standards. Review, proofread, and edit drafts prepared by less experienced transcriptionists, providing guidance where necessary.
• Maintain Patient Confidentiality: Strictly adhere to HIPAA and other regulatory standards to protect patient privacy. Ensure sensitive data is handled and stored securely at all times.
• Verify Medical Terminology and Information: Use medical reference materials to verify terminology and abbreviations, ensuring transcription integrity. Stay up-to-date with the latest healthcare practices and terminology.
• Collaborate with Healthcare Professionals: Act as a liaison between healthcare providers and administrative teams to clarify dictations and ensure accurate documentation.
• Manage Workflow Efficiently: Prioritize assignments based on urgency and work efficiently to meet tight deadlines without compromising the quality of work.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in medical transcription, focusing on various specialties, including cardiology, radiology, orthopedics, and internal medicine. Experience in editing and quality assurance is also highly valued.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with transcription software and digital dictation systems. Intense typing speed of at least 75 words per minute, with high accuracy. Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus.
• Medical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, disease processes, procedures, and treatments. Familiarity with pharmacology terminology and current coding standards.
• Attention to Detail: Strong focus on detail to ensure the accuracy of medical information. Ability to detect discrepancies in dictation and take appropriate corrective actions.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to clearly understand and transcribe complex medical language, even when spoken quickly or with heavy accents.
• Confidentiality and Ethics: A strong understanding of patient confidentiality rules, including HIPAA, and the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification from a recognized transcription training program or association, such as the Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity (AHDI).
• Previous experience working in a healthcare setting or collaborating directly with physicians.
• Experience providing mentorship or training to junior transcriptionists is an advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field or similar qualifications.
