Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Online Health and Safety Consultant to join our dynamic and growing team. This remote position offers a unique opportunity to work with diverse clients across various industries, ensuring their compliance with health and safety regulations while promoting a safety culture within their organizations. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of occupational health and safety (OHS), strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate complex safety issues clearly and effectively to clients at all levels.
As a Senior Online Health and Safety Consultant, you will be crucial in shaping and implementing health and safety strategies that meet regulatory requirements and exceed client expectations. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can manage multiple projects simultaneously, provide expert advice, and drive continuous improvement in health and safety practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Consultation and Support:
- Provide expert health and safety advice and consultancy services to clients in various sectors, including construction, manufacturing, healthcare, and more.
- Conducted comprehensive risk assessments and developed customized health and safety management systems tailored to each client's needs.
- Assist clients in interpreting and complying with relevant health and safety legislation, regulations, and industry standards.
- Develop and deliver online training programs and workshops to educate clients on best practices in health and safety.
- Risk Management and Compliance:
- Identify potential hazards and risks within client operations and recommend effective control measures to mitigate these risks.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of client sites (virtually or physically, if necessary) to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Assist clients in preparing for and responding to health and safety inspections by regulatory bodies.
- Monitor and review incident reports, conducting root cause analysis to identify trends and prevent recurrence.
- Ensure clients maintain up-to-date and accurate health and safety documentation, including policies, procedures, and records.
- Policy Development and Implementation:
- Develop, review, and update health and safety policies and procedures to reflect current best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Work with clients to integrate health and safety considerations into their business strategies and operational plans.
- Advise clients on implementing safety management systems such as ISO 45001 and assist in achieving relevant certifications.
- Training and Capacity Building:
- Design and deliver tailored health and safety training programs for client staff at all levels, focusing on risk awareness, regulatory compliance, and accident prevention.
- Utilize online platforms and tools to provide engaging and interactive training sessions, ensuring participants are fully equipped to apply safety principles in their work environments.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and continuously improve content and delivery methods based on feedback and industry developments.
- Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
- Stay current with the latest trends, regulations, and technologies in health and safety, ensuring that clients benefit from cutting-edge solutions and practices.
- Identify opportunities for innovation in health and safety services, such as using digital tools, AI, or data analytics to enhance risk management.
- Lead or contribute to internal projects to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our health and safety consultancy services.
- Team Leadership and Collaboration:
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior consultants and support staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive working environment.
- Work closely with other departments, including legal, HR, and operations, to ensure a holistic approach to health and safety across client organizations.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, webinars, and other events, sharing insights and building the company’s reputation as a leader in online health and safety consultancy.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- At least 8-10 years of experience in a health and safety role, with at least 5 years in a consultancy or advisory capacity.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Chartered Member of IOSH (CMIOSH), or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Extensive knowledge of OHS legislation, standards, and best practices across various industries.
- Proven experience in conducting risk assessments, audits, and health and safety training.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple clients and deadlines.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information to a diverse audience.
- Proficiency in using digital tools and platforms for remote consultation, training, and client management.
