About the Role:
As a Telecommute Occupational Health Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in managing the health and wellness of employees within an organization. You’ll work collaboratively with human resources, safety professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure employees are safe, healthy, and productive. Your expertise will help develop and implement health initiatives, guide workplace safety, and support employees in managing health-related concerns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Employee Health Assessments: Conduct virtual health assessments to evaluate employees' physical and mental well-being.
- Workplace Safety Promotion: Guide creating and maintaining safe work environments by adhering to occupational health and safety regulations.
- Health Education: Design and deliver health promotion programs, including virtual wellness workshops, to educate employees on maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
- Injury and Illness Management: Offer consultation and support for managing work-related injuries and illnesses, including facilitating return-to-work plans.
- Policy Development: Assist in developing workplace health policies and procedures that align with legal requirements and industry standards.
- Mental Health Advocacy: Provide resources and support to employees experiencing stress or mental health challenges, promoting a culture of well-being.
- Compliance Monitoring: Ensure adherence to occupational health and safety regulations and maintain accurate health records for compliance purposes.
- Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement protocols for managing health-related emergencies, including remote first-aid training and crisis response planning.
- Collaboration: Work closely with HR, management, and external health professionals to address workplace health concerns effectively.
Required Qualifications:
- Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, preferably in occupational health, public health, or a related field.
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and practices.
- Proficiency in using telehealth platforms and remote communication tools.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with employees at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a remote environment.
- Certification in Occupational Health Nursing (COHN) or related certifications is a plus.
