As a Remote Compensation and Benefits Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our organization remains competitive and compliant with industry standards while attracting, retaining, and rewarding top talent. You will be responsible for analyzing, designing, and administering compensation and benefits programs to ensure they align with our companyโs strategic goals. Key Responsibilities:
- Compensation Analysis and Administration:
- Conduct job evaluations and salary benchmarking to ensure competitive compensation across all job functions within the organization.
- Develop and maintain salary structures and pay policies, ensuring they are consistent with current trends and legal requirements.
- Collaborate with HR and department leaders to establish compensation guidelines that attract and retain top talent, while maintaining internal equity.
- Provide guidance and support to managers regarding compensation matters, including salary reviews, promotions, and equity adjustments.
- Analyze compensation data to assess trends, identify opportunities for improvement, and present recommendations to senior leadership.
- Manage the annual salary review process, ensuring that salary adjustments align with company objectives and financial considerations.
- Prepare and submit compensation reports for management review, including metrics such as pay equity, salary increases, and compensation competitiveness.
- Benefits Program Administration:
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement plans, and other voluntary benefits.
- Analyze benefit offerings and costs to ensure that the programs are competitive, cost-effective, and aligned with employee needs.
- Collaborate with external benefits vendors and brokers to manage renewals, negotiate plan options, and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular audits of benefit programs to ensure compliance with government regulations such as ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, HIPAA, ACA, and others.
- Communicate benefit changes and offerings to employees through various channels (e.g., email, webinars, virtual presentations) to ensure understanding and engagement.
- Assist employees with benefits-related inquiries, resolve issues with providers, and facilitate the enrollment process for new hires during open enrollment.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance and usage of benefit programs to recommend changes that enhance the employee experience while controlling costs.
- Compliance and Legal Knowledge:
- Stay up-to-date on federal, state, and local compensation and benefits laws and regulations to ensure compliance with all applicable legislation.
- Ensure adherence to internal policies, industry standards, and legal requirements related to compensation and benefits administration.
- Participate in internal and external audits related to compensation and benefits, providing necessary documentation and explanations as required.
- Employee Communication and Training:
- Develop and deliver training and informational materials for employees regarding compensation and benefits programs, including open enrollment, retirement planning, and wellness initiatives.
- Partner with HR to conduct informational sessions to help employees understand the full value of their compensation and benefits packages.
- Collaborate with internal communication teams to create engaging content and materials that clearly explain complex compensation and benefits topics in a user-friendly manner.
- Data Management and Reporting:
- Maintain and update employee compensation and benefits records in HR systems, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Provide regular reports to senior leadership on compensation and benefits metrics, including participation rates, cost analysis, and trends in employee satisfaction.
- Analyze compensation and benefits data to provide insights and recommendations on policy adjustments, cost management, and employee engagement strategies.
- Assist in the preparation of compensation-related materials for Board of Directors meetings, if required.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with HR business partners, Finance, and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment between compensation strategies and overall business objectives.
- Support the Talent Acquisition team by providing input on compensation packages for new hires, ensuring consistency and competitiveness across all roles.
- Collaborate with the HRIS team to ensure that compensation and benefits systems are properly configured, maintained, and updated as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelorโs degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in compensation and benefits analysis, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Strong understanding of compensation structures, job evaluation methodologies, and employee benefits administration.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and make data-driven recommendations.
- Proficiency with HR software systems (e.g., Workday, ADP, or similar), as well as advanced Excel skills.
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations related to compensation and benefits (e.g., FLSA, ERISA, ACA).
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly explain compensation and benefits concepts to employees and senior leaders.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification such as Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS).
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
