Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and innovative Online Education Technologist to join our dynamic team. Key Responsibilities
- Instructional Design: Collaborate with faculty and subject matter experts to design, develop, and implement engaging online courses and learning materials. Utilize best practices in instructional design and pedagogical strategies to ensure effective learning experiences.
- Technology Integration: Evaluate and recommend educational technologies and tools that enhance learning outcomes. Support faculty in integrating these technologies into their courses, ensuring that they are user-friendly and pedagogically sound.
- Course Development: Lead the development and enhancement of online courses. This includes creating course content, assessments, multimedia resources, and interactive activities that promote student engagement and learning.
- Training and Support: Provide training and ongoing support to faculty and staff on the use of educational technologies. Conduct workshops and individual sessions to enhance their skills and confidence in online teaching.
- Assessment and Evaluation: Develop assessment strategies to evaluate the effectiveness of online courses and technologies. Analyze data to inform decisions about course improvements and enhancements.
- Research and Trends: Stay current with trends in online education and educational technology. Research and implement new tools and methodologies that can improve the online learning experience.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all online courses meet institutional standards for quality and accessibility. Collaborate with stakeholders to review and revise courses regularly.
- Community Engagement: Foster a supportive online learning community by encouraging collaboration and communication among students and faculty. Promote best practices in online teaching and learning.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelorโs degree in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, or a related field; Masterโs degree preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in online education or instructional design. Proven experience in developing online courses and using various educational technologies.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS) such as Canvas, Moodle, or Blackboard. Familiarity with multimedia production tools, graphic design software, and web development tools is a plus.
- Knowledge of Best Practices: Strong understanding of adult learning principles, online pedagogy, and assessment methods. Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and inclusive teaching practices is essential.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical users effectively.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Capacity to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
