Virtual Learning Facilitator

Position Overview:
As a Virtual Learning Facilitator, you will be crucial in delivering high-quality educational experiences to students online. You will create an engaging and inclusive virtual classroom, guide students through their learning journey, and foster a supportive online community. This position requires a deep understanding of instructional design, effective communication, and the use of technology to enhance the learning experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate Online Courses:
- Deliver live virtual classes using various platforms, ensuring content is engaging and accessible.
- Monitor and assess student participation and understanding, providing real-time feedback and support.
- Instructional Design:
- Develop and implement course materials, including multimedia presentations, interactive activities, and assessments that align with learning objectives.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure course content is accurate, relevant, and up-to-date.
- Student Engagement:
- Create a positive and inclusive virtual learning environment that encourages participation and fosters a sense of community among students.
- Utilize various strategies to motivate students, promote collaboration, and facilitate discussions.
- Assessment and Feedback:
- Design and administer assessments to evaluate student understanding and progress.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback on assignments, discussions, and assessments to support student growth.
- Technology Integration:
- Utilize educational technologies and tools to enhance the learning experience and streamline course delivery.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in online education to continuously improve the virtual learning environment.
- Student Support:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for students, addressing questions and concerns promptly and effectively.
- Identify and provide additional support resources for students struggling with course material.
- Professional Development:
- Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance your teaching skills, stay updated on educational trends, and learn new technologies.
- Share best practices and strategies with colleagues to foster a collaborative learning community among facilitators.
- Course Evaluation:
- Gather feedback from students regarding course content, delivery, and overall experience to identify areas for improvement.
- Analyze assessment data to evaluate student performance and make data-driven decisions to enhance course effectiveness.
- Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure all course materials and activities comply with relevant educational standards and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and grades by institutional policies.
- Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other facilitators and staff to develop interdisciplinary courses and initiatives that enrich the student experience.
- Participate in faculty meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of the online learning program.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Proven experience in online teaching or facilitation, with a strong understanding of best practices in virtual education.
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other educational technologies (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Classroom).
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with diverse student populations.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- A commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment for all students.
- Knowledge of instructional design principles and experience creating engaging educational content.
- Ability to analyze data and use it to inform instructional decisions and improvements.
