Job Summary:
As a Digital Merchandising Specialist, you will play a critical role in shaping customers' online shopping experience by ensuring that products are strategically displayed across digital platforms. Key Responsibilities:
- Product Management and Listing Optimization:
- Manage and maintain the product catalog across e-commerce platforms, ensuring the accuracy of product descriptions, pricing, images, and overall presentation.
- Develop and refine product descriptions that enhance discoverability and improve the customer experience.
- Monitor product performance, making recommendations for adjustments to increase conversion rates and optimize customer engagement.
- Use SEO best practices to enhance product listings for search engine visibility and ranking.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze sales trends, website traffic, and customer behavior to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
- Create and maintain detailed reports on product performance, conversions, and other key metrics.
- Leverage data to adjust merchandising strategies, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
- Track performance metrics and provide actionable insights using tools like Google Analytics, e-commerce platform dashboards, and Excel.
- Promotion and Campaign Management:
- Develop and execute promotional strategies that align with seasonal trends, customer demand, and business objectives.
- Coordinate with marketing and advertising teams to create and implement campaigns that drive traffic and conversions.
- Manage digital promotions such as sales events, discounts, and special offers, ensuring they are effectively executed across all relevant platforms.
- Collaborate with creative teams to design banners, ads, and other visual content that support merchandising goals.
- Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:
- Work closely with the inventory management team to ensure accurate product availability and stock levels.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to align merchandising strategies with broader marketing goals and seasonal campaigns.
- Coordinate with the web development team to ensure that product pages, landing pages, and promotional content are displayed correctly and function as intended.
- Partner with the customer service team to identify and resolve issues related to product listings, customer feedback, or returns.
- Customer Experience Optimization:
- Ensure that the customer journey from product discovery to checkout is seamless, with a focus on reducing friction and enhancing the shopping experience.
- Implement A/B testing and personalization strategies to improve product recommendations, search results, and homepage merchandising.
- Monitor customer reviews and feedback, adjusting product listings or promotional strategies to address common concerns or capitalize on positive feedback.
- Market Research and Competitor Analysis:
- Stay current on industry trends, competitor strategies, and new technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
- Conduct regular analysis of competitor pricing, promotions, and merchandising strategies to identify opportunities for differentiation.
- Research emerging digital merchandising tools and technologies to recommend and implement improvements.
- E-Commerce Platform Management:
- Oversee and manage multiple e-commerce platforms, including but not limited to Shopify, Amazon, and third-party marketplace sites.
- Work with platform support teams to resolve technical issues related to product listings, checkout processes, or customer navigation.
- Ensure the platformโs user interface and product pages align with the brandโs guidelines and provide an optimal shopping experience.
- Project Management:
- Lead merchandising projects, from concept to execution, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
- Prioritize multiple tasks and initiatives, balancing long-term strategic goals with short-term operational needs.
- Communicate progress, challenges, and results with key stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability across all merchandising activities.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelorโs Degree in Marketing, Business, Merchandising, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3-5 years of experience in digital merchandising, e-commerce, or a related field, preferably in a retail or consumer goods industry.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data-driven decision-making.
- Familiarity with e-commerce platforms such as Shopify, Magento, or Amazon Seller Central.
- Proficiency in SEO principles and experience optimizing product listings for search visibility.
- Experience with tools such as Google Analytics, Excel, and CRM systems.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
