Instructional Designer (Remote)

Annual Salary: $90,705

Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Instructional Designer to join our dynamic team in a remote capacity. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in instructional design principles, learning theories, and the development of engaging educational content. This role is critical in enhancing the learning experiences of our audience through innovative design and technology integration.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Curriculum Development:
    • Design, develop, and implement instructional materials for various learning platforms, ensuring alignment with learning objectives and desired outcomes.
    • Conduct needs assessments to identify learning gaps and determine appropriate instructional solutions.
    • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather relevant information and ensure content accuracy.
  2. Learning Experience Design:
    • Create interactive and engaging learning experiences using a variety of multimedia tools and technologies, such as e-learning authoring software, video production tools, and graphic design software.
    • Develop user-centered learning paths that facilitate learner engagement and retention.
    • Ensure all instructional materials are accessible and inclusive, adhering to best practices in Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
  3. Evaluation and Assessment:
    • Design and implement assessment tools to measure the effectiveness of instructional materials and learner performance.
    • Analyze feedback and assessment data to inform continuous improvement of learning experiences.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate the impact of training programs on organizational goals.
  4. Project Management:
    • Manage multiple instructional design projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and budget constraints.
    • Maintain project documentation and provide regular updates to stakeholders on project status and outcomes.
    • Utilize project management tools to track progress and facilitate team collaboration.
  5. Professional Development and Research:
    • Stay abreast of the latest trends and best practices in instructional design, e-learning technologies, and adult learning theory.
    • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in instructional design.
    • Share insights and innovations with the team to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Adult Education, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in instructional design or a related field, preferably in a corporate or higher education setting.
  • Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar software.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM).
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Learning Experience Platforms (LXP).

Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
  • Proficient in using graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) and video editing tools to create engaging multimedia content.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and guidelines (e.g., WCAG, Section 508).
