Online Course Developer

Position Overview:

We seek a talented and innovative Online Course Developer to join our team. This role involves designing, developing, and managing online educational content and experiences that effectively engage learners and drive their success. As an Online Course Developer, you will work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs), instructional designers, and other stakeholders to create high-quality online courses and learning materials. This position offers a competitive annual salary of $89,744.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Course Design and Development:
   • Collaborate with SMEs to design course objectives, content, and assessment strategies.
   • Develop engaging and interactive course materials, including multimedia elements such as videos, animations, and graphics.
   • Create detailed course outlines and scripts to guide content development and ensure alignment with learning outcomes.
2. Instructional Design:
   • Apply instructional design principles to create compelling learning experiences that cater to diverse learner needs.
   • Utilize various e-learning tools and technologies to build and enhance course content.
   • Develop assessments, quizzes, and interactive activities to measure learner progress and understanding.
3. Content Management:
   • Organize and manage course content within the Learning Management System (LMS) to ensure ease of access and usability for learners.
   • Regularly review and update course materials to maintain relevance and accuracy.
   • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to course content and delivery.
4. Quality Assurance:
   • Conduct thorough testing of courses to ensure functionality and compatibility across different devices and platforms.
   • Implement feedback from learners and stakeholders to improve course content and delivery continuously.
   • Adhere to best practices and standards in online education and instructional design.
5. Project Management:
   • Coordinate with project teams and manage timelines to ensure timely delivery of course materials.
   • Track project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
   • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality.
6. Learner Support:
   • Support and guide learners throughout their course experience, including addressing questions and technical issues.
   • Develop and maintain resources such as FAQs, help guides, and tutorials to assist learners.
7. Research and Innovation:
   • Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in online education and instructional design.
   • Explore and implement innovative tools and technologies to enhance the learning experience.
   • Participate in professional development opportunities to continually improve skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
• Proven experience designing and developing online courses, with a portfolio of completed projects.
• Proficiency in using e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar software.
• Strong understanding of instructional design models and theories, including ADDIE, Bloom’s Taxonomy, and adult learning principles.
• Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Moodle, Blackboard, or Canvas.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create explicit and engaging content.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
• Familiarity with web development languages (HTML, CSS) and basic graphic design skills are advantageous.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
