Online Course Developer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Online Course Developer to join our dynamic team. This remote position offers the opportunity to design, develop, and deliver engaging and effective online learning experiences for a diverse range of audiences. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in instructional design, a deep understanding of educational technology, and a passion for creating high-quality, interactive educational content.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Course Design and Development:
   • Create and develop engaging online courses from concept to completion, including writing course content, designing multimedia elements, and integrating interactive components.
   • Utilize instructional design principles and best practices to ensure that courses are pedagogically sound, meet learning objectives, and are accessible to all learners.
   • Develop and implement course outlines, learning objectives, assessments, and evaluations to measure the effectiveness of the instructional materials.
2. Content Creation:
   • Research and gather information on relevant topics to ensure course content is accurate, current, and aligned with industry standards.
   • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather and integrate expert knowledge into course materials.
   • Create multimedia elements such as videos, graphics, animations, and simulations to enhance the learning experience.
3. Learning Management System (LMS) Management:
   • Upload and manage course content within the LMS, ensuring that all materials are properly formatted, organized, and accessible.
   • Monitor and troubleshoot technical issues related to course delivery, and provide support to learners as needed.
   • Analyze data and learner feedback to continuously improve course content and delivery.
4. Quality Assurance:
   • Review and revise course materials to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to instructional design standards.
   • Conduct usability testing and gather feedback from learners to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
   • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, technologies, and best practices in online education.
5. Project Management:
   • Manage multiple course development projects simultaneously, ensuring that deadlines and milestones are met.
   • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to align course development with organizational goals and objectives.
   • Provide regular updates and progress reports to project managers and other relevant parties.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Educational Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Proven experience in developing online courses and instructional materials, with a strong portfolio demonstrating previous work.
• Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) and Learning Management Systems (e.g., Moodle, Canvas).
• Solid understanding of instructional design models and best practices, including ADDIE, SAM, and Bloom’s Taxonomy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and engagingly.
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to produce high-quality work within deadlines.
• Experience working with subject matter experts and stakeholders to gather content and ensure alignment with learning objectives.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a remote work environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in instructional design or related fields (e.g., Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP), Certified Online Learning Facilitator (COLF)).
• Experience with gamification and adaptive learning technologies.
• Familiarity with data analysis tools and methods for evaluating course effectiveness.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices (e.g., WCAG, Section 508).
