Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Online Development Manager to join our team. As an Online Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving our online presence, enhancing web performance, managing digital assets, and overseeing the development of various online projects. You will work collaboratively with a team of web developers, designers, marketing experts, and stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of digital strategies that align with the company’s objectives.

This is a full-time remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work from anywhere. You will report directly to the Director of Digital Strategy and play a crucial role in shaping and improving our digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities

1. Overseeing Web Development Projects

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of web development projects from inception to completion.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, and content managers, to ensure projects meet objectives and deadlines.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline web development workflows.
  • Ensure all projects comply with the company’s standards for user experience (UX), accessibility, and technical performance.

2. Website Optimization and Performance Management

  • Monitor and analyze website performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Optimize website speed, functionality, and SEO performance to ensure a seamless user experience.
  • Regularly audit websites to ensure compliance with the latest security protocols, standards, and best practices.
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce bounce rates and improve conversion rates.

3. Digital Asset Management

  • Manage the company’s digital assets, including images, videos, and downloadable resources.
  • Ensure all digital assets are organized, up-to-date, and easily accessible to the relevant teams.
  • Work closely with the creative team to ensure that digital assets align with brand guidelines and project requirements.

4. Content Management and Strategy

  • Oversee the content management systems (CMS), ensuring that content updates are made promptly and accurately.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement content strategies that align with business goals.
  • Assist with the creation, editing, and publishing of digital content, including blogs, articles, landing pages, and product descriptions.
  • Ensure content is optimized for search engines and that SEO best practices are followed.

5. E-commerce Development

  • Manage and optimize the company’s e-commerce platforms to improve the customer journey and increase sales conversions.
  • Collaborate with the product team to implement new features and functionalities that enhance the shopping experience.
  • Monitor e-commerce analytics to identify trends, sales performance, and growth opportunities.
  • Ensure the integration of secure payment gateways and maintain compliance with all legal and security requirements.

6. Team Management and Leadership

  • Lead and mentor a team of web developers, offering guidance and support to foster professional growth.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, providing constructive feedback to enhance individual and team performance.
  • Act as the main point of contact between the development team and other departments, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Allocate resources effectively to ensure the timely completion of projects while managing competing priorities.

7. Budgeting and Resource Allocation

  • Work closely with the finance team to manage the digital development budget, ensuring that all projects are completed within financial constraints.
  • Identify cost-effective solutions to maximize project outcomes while minimizing expenditure.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with third-party vendors and service providers when necessary.

8. Stakeholder Engagement and Reporting

  • Communicate regularly with key stakeholders, providing updates on project progress and web performance.
  • Present detailed reports on website analytics, development milestones, and ROI to senior leadership.
  • Gather feedback from stakeholders and users to continuously improve online platforms.

9. Innovation and Continuous Improvement

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest web development trends, tools, and technologies to ensure that the company remains competitive in the digital space.
  • Propose and implement innovative solutions to enhance the user experience and streamline business operations.
  • Regularly evaluate current online development processes and recommend improvements.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Web Development, Digital Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in online/digital development, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Shopify, Magento).
  • Proven experience managing e-commerce platforms and optimizing websites for SEO and performance.
  • Familiarity with web analytics tools such as Google Analytics, SEMrush, or Ahrefs.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with UX/UI design principles.
  • Familiarity with agile project management methodologies.
