Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Online Learning and Development Consultant to join our team in a remote capacity. This role is pivotal in designing, developing, and implementing cutting-edge online learning programs that align with organizational goals and drive employee development. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of creating effective e-learning solutions, a deep understanding of instructional design principles, and a passion for leveraging technology to enhance learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Instructional Design and Development:
    • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to assess training needs and objectives.
    • Design and develop engaging and interactive online learning modules, including courses, simulations, and assessments, using various authoring tools and platforms.
    • Ensure instructional materials are aligned with learning objectives and organizational goals, and adhere to best practices in instructional design.
  2. Learning Platform Management:
    • Manage and maintain the online learning management system (LMS), including course uploads, user management, and system configuration.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the LMS and online learning content.
    • Monitor and analyze user engagement and feedback to continuously improve the learning experience.
  3. Content Creation and Curation:
    • Create and curate high-quality learning content, including video, audio, and written materials, to support diverse learning styles.
    • Incorporate multimedia elements and interactive features to enhance learner engagement and retention.
    • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the use of innovative and effective learning tools.
  4. Project Management:
    • Led and managed multiple online learning projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project specifications.
    • Develop project plans, timelines, and milestones, and coordinate with team members and stakeholders to achieve project goals.
    • Track project progress, manage resources, and communicate updates to stakeholders.
  5. Evaluation and Continuous Improvement:
    • Design and implement evaluation methods to assess the effectiveness of online learning programs, including surveys, assessments, and performance metrics.
    • Analyze evaluation data and learner feedback to identify areas for improvement and make data-driven recommendations.
    • Continuously refine and update learning materials and programs based on feedback and performance outcomes.
  6. Training and Support:
    • Provide training and support to users on how to navigate the LMS and utilize online learning resources effectively.
    • Develop user guides, FAQs, and other support materials to assist learners and administrators.
    • Offer ongoing support and troubleshooting assistance to ensure a positive learning experience.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Human Resources, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in instructional design and e-learning development, with a strong portfolio of online learning solutions.
  • Proficiency in using e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Moodle, Blackboard, or Canvas.
  • Strong understanding of instructional design models and methodologies, including ADDIE, SAM, and Bloom’s Taxonomy.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and engagingly.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a virtual team, demonstrating a high level of self-motivation and organization.
  • Knowledge of current trends and best practices in online learning and development.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in instructional design or e-learning development (e.g., Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP), eLearning Guild’s Online Learning Certificate).
  • Experience in designing and delivering training programs for diverse audiences, including corporate, non-profit, and educational sectors.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and reporting tools to assess learning effectiveness.
