Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Benefits Coordinator to join our team remotely. As a Benefits Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing and administering employee benefits programs, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, and providing exceptional support to our employees. Your role will involve coordinating a range of benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in benefits administration, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Benefits Administration:
- Oversee the administration of employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and disability benefits.
- Manage enrollment and changes in benefits plans, ensuring accurate processing of employee elections and updates.
- Act as the primary point of contact for employees regarding benefits inquiries, providing timely and accurate information and resolving issues as needed.
- Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to employee benefits, including ERISA, COBRA, and ACA.
- Prepare and submit required benefits-related reports and filings to regulatory agencies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in benefits regulations and industry best practices to ensure program compliance and effectiveness.
- Benefits Communication:
- Develop and distribute benefits communications to employees, including open enrollment materials, benefit summaries, and updates on changes to benefits programs.
- Conduct benefits orientations and informational sessions for new hires and current employees to ensure an understanding of available benefits and enrollment processes.
- Vendor Management:
- Collaborate with benefits vendors and carriers to manage plan offerings, resolve issues, and ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
- Review and analyze vendor performance and pricing, making recommendations for improvements or changes as necessary.
- Data Management:
- Maintain accurate and confidential benefits records, including employee enrollment data, benefits changes, and claims information.
- Utilize HRIS and other systems to track benefits-related data and generate reports as needed.
- Employee Support:
- Provide exceptional customer service to employees regarding benefits-related questions, concerns, and issues.
- Assist employees with the claims process and troubleshoot any problems related to benefits coverage.
- Process Improvement:
- Continuously evaluate benefits programs and processes to identify opportunities for improvement and increased efficiency.
- Implement best practices and streamline benefits administration processes to enhance the employee experience.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelorโs degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in benefits administration or a related role, with a thorough understanding of employee benefits programs and compliance requirements.
- Certifications: Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or similar certification is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex benefits information clearly and concisely.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with HRIS systems.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in handling benefits-related data and documentation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work.
