Position Overview:
We seek an experienced and detail-oriented Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to join our dynamic team. As a Remote BI Developer, you will design, develop, and maintain BI solutions that support our organization's data-driven decision-making processes. This role requires a deep understanding of data modeling, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and data visualization tools. You will work closely with various stakeholders to identify business needs, develop reporting solutions, and deliver actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis and Requirements Gathering:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data requirements and reporting needs.
- Analyze existing data sources, identify gaps, and recommend improvements to the data collection and reporting process.
- ETL Development:
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes to extract data from various sources, transform it according to business rules, and load it into data warehouses or other storage solutions.
- Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and performance of ETL processes.
- Data Modeling:
- Created and maintained data models representing business processes and supporting reporting and analysis needs.
- Develop and optimize database schemas, tables, and relationships to enhance data retrieval and reporting performance.
- Report and Dashboard Development:
- Designed and developed interactive reports, dashboards, and visualizations using BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
- Ensure reports and dashboards are user-friendly, provide actionable insights, and meet business requirements.
- Performance Optimization:
- Monitor and optimize the performance of BI solutions, including reports, dashboards, and ETL processes.
- Implement best data retrieval, processing, and presentation practices to deliver timely and accurate information.
- Documentation and Training:
- Created and maintained comprehensive documentation for BI solutions, including design specifications, data definitions, and user guides.
- Provide training and support to end-users on how to use BI tools and interpret data insights effectively.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- I will work closely with cross-functional teams, including data analysts, data engineers, and business users, to ensure alignment on BI projects and deliverables.
- Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders and recommend solutions as needed.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in BI technologies and best practices.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement enhancements to BI solutions and workflows.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a BI Developer or similar role, with a strong portfolio of BI projects and solutions.
- Proficiency in BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
- Experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and database management (e.g., SQL, Oracle, or similar technologies).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy, performance, and usability.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud-based BI solutions (e.g., AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, or Azure Synapse).
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R for advanced data analysis and automation.
- Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and data privacy best practices.
