We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Compliance Monitoring Specialist to join our dynamic team remotely. Key Responsibilities
1. Compliance Monitoring and Review
- Conduct Regular Audits: Perform periodic audits of company processes, policies, and operations to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Analyze Compliance Data: Gather, analyze, and report on compliance data to identify trends, areas of improvement, and potential risks.
- Monitor Regulatory Changes: Stay updated on new and evolving regulations that may impact the company, ensuring that all departments are aware of and adhere to these changes.
- Develop Compliance Checklists: Create and maintain detailed compliance checklists and documentation to support ongoing monitoring efforts.
2. Risk Assessment and Management
- Identify Compliance Risks: Proactively identify and assess potential compliance risks in company operations, providing recommendations for mitigation.
- Develop Risk Mitigation Strategies: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective risk mitigation strategies.
- Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into compliance breaches or incidents, documenting findings, and recommending corrective actions.
- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed reports on compliance risks, breaches, and corrective actions, ensuring that all relevant documentation is up-to-date and accessible.
3. Policy Development and Implementation
- Review and Update Policies: Regularly review and update company policies to ensure they are in line with current regulations and best practices.
- Policy Training and Communication: Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on compliance policies, procedures, and the importance of adherence.
- Implement New Policies: Work with department heads to implement new compliance policies and procedures, ensuring smooth adoption across the organization.
- Support Ethical Practices: Promote a culture of compliance and ethical behavior throughout the company, ensuring that all employees understand and commit to these standards.
4. Compliance Reporting
- Prepare Compliance Reports: Compile and prepare comprehensive compliance reports for senior management, outlining key findings, risks, and recommendations.
- Report Compliance Breaches: Ensure timely reporting of any compliance breaches to appropriate internal and external stakeholders.
- Track Corrective Actions: Monitor the implementation of corrective actions following compliance breaches or audits, ensuring that issues are fully resolved.
5. Collaboration and Communication
- Liaise with Regulatory Bodies: Act as the primary point of contact with regulatory bodies, ensuring timely and accurate communication regarding compliance matters.
- Collaborate with Internal Teams: Work closely with legal, finance, HR, and other departments to ensure cohesive compliance efforts across the organization.
- Provide Expert Advice: Offer expert advice and support to internal teams on compliance-related issues, helping them navigate complex regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or additional certifications in compliance, risk management, or auditing is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in compliance monitoring, auditing, or risk management, preferably within a regulated industry.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in compliance software, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) systems is highly desirable.
- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks, such as GDPR, HIPAA, SOX, or similar, depending on the industry.
- Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and propose practical solutions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate compliance issues and recommendations to non-experts.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail, with the ability to identify subtle compliance risks and inconsistencies.
- Ethical Judgement: Strong sense of ethics and integrity, with a commitment to upholding the highest standards of compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications: Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or similar certifications.
- Industry Experience: Previous experience working in compliance within a specific industry, such as finance, healthcare, or technology.
