Job Overview
Naukri Mitra is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Remote Cost Analyst to join our client's team. As a Cost Analyst, you will be essential in managing, analyzing, and reporting cost-related data to drive financial efficiency and enhance decision-making processes. Key Responsibilities

• Cost Analysis and Reporting: Analyze cost data, prepare cost reports, and provide insights to management regarding budgeting, resource allocation, and cost optimization.
• Cost Monitoring: Monitor project budgets and expenditures to ensure costs are within authorized limits and identify potential areas of financial risk.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in developing budgets and financial forecasts, working closely with project managers to align estimates with operational goals.
• Variance Analysis: Conduct variance analysis to compare actual results with budgets and forecasts, identify discrepancies, and propose corrective actions.
• Data Collection and Management: Gather, organize, and maintain cost data from different business units to ensure accuracy in all financial reporting.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other finance and accounting professionals to coordinate cost analysis efforts and collaborate with other departments to better understand cost drivers and opportunities for savings.
• Financial Modeling: Develop and implement economic models that help analyze cost structures and support decision-making processes.
• Cost Estimation: Prepare estimates for new products, projects, or services by evaluating labor, materials, and overhead costs.
• Project Support: Provide cost information to project managers to support project decision-making, track progress, and ensure that budgets are adhered to throughout each project's lifecycle.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve costing processes, reporting systems, and overall cost control by recommending best practices and efficiency improvements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in cost analysis, financial analysis, budgeting, or a related field.
• Strong analytical skills with experience working with large datasets, analyzing financial metrics, and preparing reports.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with experience creating and using financial models.
• Working knowledge of financial software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining strong communication and collaboration with team members.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with an ability to think critically and analytically to develop recommendations for cost improvements.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly present findings and recommendations to non-financial stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Professional certifications include Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
• Experience working with cost estimation, variance analysis, and financial modeling in a remote environment.
• Experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems such as SAP or Oracle for cost tracking and reporting.
• Familiarity with project management principles and processes, including budget management.
