Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Remote Cyber Risk Analyst to join our client’s cybersecurity team. The successful candidate will assess, monitor, and mitigate cyber risks within the organization, ensuring that cybersecurity measures are aligned with industry best practices and compliance standards. As a Cyber Risk Analyst, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and provide insights to strengthen the organization's overall security posture. This role requires a proactive individual with deep knowledge of risk management and cybersecurity practices who is comfortable working in a remote environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, and threat analyses to assess and analyze the organization's cyber risk exposure.
• Develop and maintain risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure consistent evaluation and mitigation of cyber risks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify risks associated with new projects, systems, and third-party vendors, and develop mitigation strategies.
• Perform risk assessments of information systems, networks, and applications to identify potential vulnerabilities and provide recommendations for reducing risk exposure.
• Develop and maintain a risk register to track identified risks, mitigation plans, and risk status.
• Monitor cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and incidents to identify trends and provide insights into potential risks to the organization.
• Work with stakeholders to prioritize risks and develop action plans to address high-priority risks promptly.
• Assist in developing and implementing security policies, procedures, and standards to ensure that security best practices are embedded in all business processes.
• Develop and maintain risk metrics and dashboards to provide visibility into the organization's risk profile and track progress against risk mitigation initiatives.
• Participate in incident response activities by assessing the impact of security incidents, conducting root cause analysis, and providing recommendations for remediation.
• Stay informed about emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices to protect the organization against new and evolving threats.
• To foster a culture of security within the organization, provide employees with training and awareness on cybersecurity risk management best practices.
• Support regulatory compliance efforts by ensuring risk management activities align with industry regulations and standards.
• Prepare detailed reports on risk assessments, risk mitigation plans, and security incidents to communicate findings to stakeholders and senior management.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Risk Management, or a related field.
• A minimum of 4-6 years of experience in cybersecurity risk management, preferably as a Cyber Risk Analyst or in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, risk management frameworks, and best practices, including NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS controls.
• Proven experience conducting risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, and threat analysis.
• Experience working with security technologies like firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and endpoint protection.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify risks, assess their impact, and develop effective mitigation strategies.
• Proficiency in using risk assessment, security monitoring, and reporting tools to track and manage risks.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex information to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, remote environment.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in documenting risk assessments, reports, and recommendations.

Preferred Skills:

• Certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
• Experience working with third-party vendor risk management programs.
• Knowledge of data privacy regulations, such as GDPR, CCPA, etc.
• Familiarity with cloud security best practices and experience assessing risks in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience in finance, healthcare, or energy industries, where cybersecurity risk management is critical.
