Job Description:

As a Remote Cybersecurity Operations Manager, you will oversee and coordinate all aspects of cybersecurity operations, ensuring the protection of information systems and data. Your responsibilities will include managing a team of cybersecurity professionals, implementing security policies, responding to security incidents, and continuously improving the organization’s cybersecurity posture. This is a critical leadership role that requires expertise in both strategic planning and hands-on cybersecurity operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership and Management:
  • Lead and manage a team of cybersecurity analysts and engineers, providing guidance and support to achieve organizational goals.
  • Develop training programs to enhance the team’s skills and knowledge.
• Threat Detection and Incident Response:
  • Oversee the monitoring of systems and networks for security breaches and incidents.
  • Coordinate and lead the response to security incidents, including investigation, mitigation, and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain incident response plans and ensure their effectiveness through regular testing.
• Policy and Compliance:
  • Develop, implement, and enforce cybersecurity policies, standards, and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards such as GDPR, ISO 27001, and NIST.
  • Conduct audits and assessments to identify vulnerabilities and areas for improvement.
• Security Infrastructure Management:
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of security tools and technologies, such as firewalls, SIEM systems, and endpoint protection.
  • Collaborate with IT and development teams to ensure security is embedded in system design and deployment.
• Risk Management:
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks.
  • Monitor the threat landscape and adapt security measures to address emerging risks.
• Data Protection:
  • Ensure the security of sensitive data by implementing encryption, access controls, and data loss prevention measures.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with data protection policies.
• Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the organization’s cybersecurity capabilities.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Educational Background:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH) are highly desirable.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity operations, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of managing and responding to complex security incidents.
• Technical Proficiency:
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, SIEM, and endpoint protection.
  • Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) and securing hybrid environments.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation tools for security tasks.
