Key Responsibilities:

• Threat Monitoring and Analysis: Continuously assess potential security threats, vulnerabilities, and risks. Utilize advanced tools and software to detect and analyze suspicious activities in network environments, identifying real-time threats and preventing data breaches.
• Incident Response: Lead and coordinate response efforts for security incidents, including detection, containment, eradication, and recovery processes. Develop strategies to address evolving cybersecurity threats while minimizing business impact.
• Security Solutions Implementation: Develop and implement cybersecurity solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint security tools, to ensure the organization has effective defenses. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy and manage these solutions.
• Risk Assessment and Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular security risk assessments and scans. Provide comprehensive reports on findings and recommend mitigating strategies. Work with various teams to close security gaps and reduce exposure to cyber threats.
• Security Policies and Best Practices: I assist in creating, implementing, and enforcing security policies, procedures, and best practices. I also regularly educate and train employees on the secure usage of IT systems, raising awareness of cybersecurity threats and defensive measures.
• Compliance and Auditing: Ensure the organization's cybersecurity posture meets compliance and regulatory standards. Assist in audits and implement measures required to maintain compliance with standards such as GDPR, ISO 27001, or similar.
• Reporting and Documentation: Maintain detailed records of security incidents and breaches and produce reports for senior management highlighting security issues, trends, and key performance indicators. Based on the analysis, recommend improvements.
• Security Innovation and Research: Stay current with cybersecurity developments, trends, and best practices. Research emerging technologies and recommend new tools or processes to improve the organization's security.

Key Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity, including experience with incident response, threat analysis, and security solution implementation. Experience in remote roles is preferred.
• Technical Skills:
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, protocols, and tools.
  • Proficiency with firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, SIEM, endpoint protection tools, and other security technologies.
  • Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) and managing security in hybrid environments.
  • Strong knowledge of network protocols, intrusion techniques, malware analysis, and security assessment methodologies.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Bash, or PowerShell) is a plus.
• Certifications: Industry-recognized cybersecurity certifications, such as CISSP, CEH, CISM, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent, are highly desirable.
• Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to respond effectively and efficiently to high-stress situations and to make sound decisions under pressure.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders and work effectively in a remote team environment.
• Attention to Detail: High attention to detail with the ability to thoroughly document issues and processes. Ability to think like a hacker and identify weaknesses before exploiting them.
