Key Responsibilities:

• Digital Forensics Investigations: Lead digital forensic investigations involving cyberattacks, data breaches, malware infections, and insider threats. Collect, analyze, and preserve digital evidence from various systems and environments.
• Incident Response Support: Work closely with the incident response team to investigate cybersecurity incidents. Conduct root cause analysis, identify the extent of the compromise, and provide insights that support incident containment and remediation.
• Evidence Collection and Preservation: Ensure the proper collection, preservation, and documentation of digital evidence by best practices and legal requirements. Maintain a chain of custody and use forensic tools to recover deleted, encrypted, or damaged files.
• Analysis of Digital Artifacts: Analyze digital artifacts from computers, mobile devices, servers, and cloud environments. Extract critical information from logs, disk images, memory, and network traffic to support investigations.
• Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed and accurate investigation reports, including findings, analysis, and recommendations. Communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executives, legal teams, and law enforcement.
• Forensic Tool Development and Optimization: Develop and maintain forensic tools, scripts, and methodologies to improve the efficiency of digital forensic investigations. Evaluate and implement the latest forensic tools and technologies to enhance the team's capabilities.
• Chain of Custody Management: Ensure compliance with chain of custody protocols for all digital evidence, maintaining meticulous records to support potential legal proceedings. Testify in support of forensic evidence, including expert witness services in court or legal matters.
• Collaboration with Law Enforcement and Legal Teams: Collaborate with law enforcement, legal teams, and regulatory bodies to provide evidence and insights that support ongoing investigations or legal cases. Provide technical expertise as required to support litigation.
• Threat Hunting and Proactive Analysis: Perform proactive forensic analysis to identify anomalies and potential threats. Utilize threat-hunting techniques to detect malicious activity and provide intelligence to enhance cybersecurity defenses.
• Staying Informed on Forensic Trends: Research emerging technologies, attack vectors, and methodologies to enhance investigation techniques and stay current with the latest advancements in digital forensics, incident response, and cybercrime tactics.

Key Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Digital Forensics, Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may also be considered.
• Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in digital forensics, incident response, or a related role. Experience conducting forensic investigations in a remote setting is a plus.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in using forensic tools such as EnCase, FTK, X-Ways, Autopsy, and Cellebrite.
  • Strong knowledge of forensic methodologies, chain of custody practices, and forensic imaging techniques.
  • Experience with scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell) to automate forensic analysis tasks.
  • Understanding operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and file systems, as well as mobile forensics and cloud environments.
• Certifications: Industry-recognized certifications such as GCFA, EnCE, CCE, or CHFI are highly desirable.
• Analytical and Investigative Skills: Strong analytical skills, with the ability to gather, process, and interpret data from multiple sources. Ability to think critically, solve complex problems, and uncover hidden details during forensic investigations.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to create clear and concise investigation reports and effectively communicate technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
• Attention to Detail: High attention to detail, mainly when collecting, preserving, and documenting digital evidence. Commitment to accuracy and thoroughness in forensic analysis.
• Collaboration Skills: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including IT, security, legal, and law enforcement. Strong collaboration skills to support incident response and investigative activities.
• Confidentiality and Integrity: Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest level of confidentiality and integrity. Commitment to ethical conduct and professionalism in all aspects of forensic work.
