About the Role:ย We seek a dedicated and experiencedย Employee Benefits Manager to join our remote team. The ideal candidate will comprehensively understand employee benefits administration, compliance, and strategy and effectively manage various benefits programs in a remote work environment. This role is crucial in ensuring our employee benefits offerings are competitive, compliant, and aligned with our organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Benefits Administration:
- Oversee the daily administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and other employee perks.
- Manage vendor relationships, ensuring services and deliverables meet organizational standards and contractual agreements.
- Address employee inquiries and resolve issues related to benefits promptly and effectively.
- Coordinate benefits enrollment and manage employee benefits communication and education.
- Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure all benefits programs comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including ERISA, HIPAA, and ACA.
- Prepare and maintain documentation related to benefits programs and compliance.
- Conduct periodic audits and review benefits programs to identify and address compliance issues or potential improvements.
- Prepare reports and analyses on benefits utilization and costs for management review.
- Benefits Strategy and Design:
- Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement benefits strategies that support organizational objectives and employee satisfaction.
- Research and analyze industry trends to recommend enhancements or changes to benefits offerings.
- Develop and present proposals for new benefits programs or modifications to existing programs.
- Assess the effectiveness of benefits programs and make recommendations for improvements.
- Employee Communication and Support:
- Develop and deliver transparent, concise benefits communication materials to employees, including benefits guides, presentations, and FAQs.
- Conduct benefits orientations and informational sessions for new hires and current employees.
- Provide guidance and support to employees regarding benefits choices, claims processes, and other related matters.
- Project Management:
- Lead and manage benefits-related projects like open enrollment periods, benefits system upgrades, or new program implementations.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and successful completion of projects.
- Budget Management:
- Assist in the development and management of the benefits budget.
- Monitor benefits expenditures and analyze cost trends to ensure cost-effectiveness and budget adherence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelorโs degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A Masterโs degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CEBS, SHRM-SCP) is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in employee benefits management, with a proven track record of handling complex benefits programs.
- In-depth knowledge of employee benefits laws and regulations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess benefits data and make data-driven recommendations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees, vendors, and management.
- Proficient in benefits administration software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with remote work benefits and challenges.
- Familiarity with benefits technology platforms and tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a virtual team setting.
Working Conditions:
- This remote position allows you to work from the comfort of your home.
- Occasional travel may be required for vendor meetings or industry conferences.
