Key Responsibilities

Lead and Support High-Stakes Environmental Litigation

  • Represent clients in legal proceedings involving environmental statutes, including the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
  • Draft compelling legal briefs, motions, and memoranda tailored to complex regulatory frameworks.
  • Manage discovery, prepare witnesses, and participate remotely in hearings and settlement negotiations.

Provide Environmental Compliance Counseling

  • Offer strategic legal advice to businesses and nonprofits regarding environmental permitting and regulatory compliance.
  • Interpret and analyze local, state, and federal environmental regulations, identifying risk and ensuring alignment with sustainable business practices.
  • Partner with clients to proactively address potential violations and advise on remedial measures.

Engage in Policy Advocacy and Public Interest Representation

  • Work alongside environmental coalitions and public institutions to advance forward-thinking ecological initiatives.
  • Assist in drafting policy proposals, regulatory comments, and public education materials.
  • Support litigation efforts aimed at holding polluters accountable and safeguarding community health.

Research and Analysis

  • Conduct in-depth legal research on evolving environmental laws and emerging trends in climate litigation.

Required Qualifications

Legal Expertise & Credentials

  • A Juris Doctor from a U.S. law school with strong academic performance
  • Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in environmental law, preferably in both litigation and advisory capacities

Technical and Analytical Strength

  • Exceptional ability to interpret statutory language, draft complex legal arguments, and assess regulatory impacts
  • Familiarity with climate law, sustainability initiatives, or international environmental frameworks is a plus.

Communication and Collaboration
