Position Overview:
We are looking for a motivated and experienced ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) Analyst to work remotely as part of our client's team. The ideal candidate will assess, analyze, and report ESG factors to help the organization achieve its sustainability goals and enhance its corporate responsibility. You will be vital in driving sustainability initiatives, analyzing data, monitoring compliance, and working with stakeholders to advance ESG-related projects. Key Responsibilities:
- ESG Data Collection & Analysis: Gather, manage, and analyze ESG-related data from internal and external sources. Ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency, and use insights to support the development of sustainability strategies and initiatives.
- ESG Reporting: Prepare ESG reports, disclosures, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders. Develop content for ESG frameworks, such as GRI, SASB, and CDP, ensuring that reporting is transparent, accurate, and aligned with industry standards.
- Sustainability Assessment: Conduct assessments to evaluate the organization's environmental, social, and governance performance. Identify opportunities for improvement and provide recommendations to enhance ESG performance and achieve corporate sustainability goals.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with stakeholders across various functions, including sustainability, finance, HR, and operations, to support ESG initiatives. Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with sustainability targets and corporate objectives.
- ESG Metrics & Performance Monitoring: Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) related to environmental, social, and governance factors. Track and analyze ESG metrics to assess progress against goals and provide data-driven insights to support decision-making.
- Research & Benchmarking: Stay informed about industry best practices, emerging trends, and regulations related to ESG. Conduct benchmarking research to understand the organization's ESG performance relative to competitors and provide recommendations for improvement.
- ESG Risk Assessment: Identify ESG-related risks and opportunities that could impact the organization. Conduct risk assessments to evaluate the potential impact on financial performance and overall sustainability and provide recommendations for mitigating risks.
- Policy Development & Compliance: I will assist in developing policies and procedures related to ESG matters, such as diversity and inclusion, environmental responsibility, and ethical governance. I will also ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Sustainable Investment Analysis: Analyze ESG factors and assess their impact on financial performance to support the development of sustainable investment strategies and provide insights that support responsible investment decisions.
- Collaboration with External Partners: Engage with third-party ESG rating agencies, consultants, and other external partners to enhance the organizationโs ESG profile. Coordinate responses to ESG rating requests and assessments to ensure the organization's performance is accurately represented.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or additional certifications in ESG, Sustainability, or Corporate Responsibility is an advantage.
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience in ESG analysis, sustainability, or a related field is essential. Experience with ESG reporting frameworks, data analysis, and corporate sustainability programs is also necessary.
- ESG Expertise: Strong understanding of ESG concepts, including environmental impact, social responsibility, corporate governance, and sustainable development. Familiarity with ESG standards and reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD, CDP).
- Analytical & Data Management Skills: Proficiency in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting ESG-related data. Ability to use data analysis tools like Excel or Power BI to assess performance, track metrics, and provide insights.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey ESG concepts and research findings clearly and understandably. Experience preparing reports, presentations, and disclosures for stakeholders.
- Project Management: Experience managing multiple ESG projects simultaneously, including setting timelines, tracking progress, and ensuring successful delivery. PMP or similar project management certification is an advantage.
- Problem-Solving: A proactive approach to identifying ESG challenges and finding innovative solutions. Ability to think critically and creatively to support the organization's ESG objectives.
- Remote Work Experience: Experience working remotely or with distributed teams is a plus. Comfortable using remote communication and collaboration tools such as Zoom, Slack, or Microsoft Teams.
