Position Overview:

We seek a highly skilled and detail-oriented Remote Financial Cybersecurity Analyst to join our client’s cybersecurity team. The successful candidate will be critical in securing the organization’s financial systems, identifying potential vulnerabilities, and mitigating cyber risks. As a Financial Cybersecurity Analyst, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive financial information and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. This role requires a proactive individual with a deep understanding of cybersecurity, economic systems, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and analyze the security of financial systems, networks, and applications to detect and respond to cybersecurity threats.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify financial system weaknesses and provide mitigation recommendations.
• Develop and implement cybersecurity measures, including encryption, access controls, and security protocols, to protect sensitive financial data.
• Conduct risk assessments and threat modeling to evaluate the organization's financial systems and identify potential risks.
• Collaborate with IT, finance, and risk management teams to ensure cybersecurity measures are integrated into financial systems and processes.
• Stay informed about emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices related to financial cybersecurity and apply this knowledge to enhance the organization's security posture.
• Develop and maintain incident response plans to ensure timely and effective response to financial system cybersecurity incidents.
• Monitor and analyze security logs, financial transactions, and network traffic to identify suspicious activities and indicators of compromise.
• Develop and maintain cybersecurity policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with industry regulations such as PCI DSS, GDPR, and other relevant financial regulations.
• Assist in developing and implementing cybersecurity awareness programs for employees, focusing on protecting financial data and systems.
• Prepare detailed reports on security incidents, vulnerabilities, and assessment findings and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Collaborate with external auditors, regulators, and third-party vendors to ensure compliance with cybersecurity requirements for financial systems.
• Support integrating new financial software and systems by conducting security assessments and providing recommendations to ensure secure implementation.
• Provide ongoing support to stakeholders regarding financial cybersecurity measures, risks, and best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field.
• A minimum of 4-6 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on financial systems or financial institutions.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, financial systems, and best practices related to economic data protection.
• Proven experience in conducting vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk assessments of financial systems.
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations, such as PCI DSS, GDPR, and other relevant financial cybersecurity standards.
• Hands-on experience with security technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and encryption protocols.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify security risks, assess their impact, and develop effective mitigation strategies.
• Proficiency in using cybersecurity tools, such as SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems, for monitoring and analysis.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, remote work environment.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in documenting risk assessments, reports, and recommendations.

Preferred Skills:

• Certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH).
• Experience working with financial institutions, fintech companies, or other providers.
• Familiarity with cloud security best practices, particularly within AWS, Azure, or other cloud environments.
• Knowledge of network security architecture, protocols, and best practices for securing financial data.
• Experience in conducting financial fraud analysis and familiarity with anti-fraud measures and tools.
