Job Summary: We seek a highly skilled and detail-oriented Remote Forensic Auditor to join our team. In this role, you will conduct thorough investigations and analyses to detect, prevent, and resolve financial discrepancies and fraud. As a Remote Forensic Auditor, you will utilize advanced forensic accounting techniques and tools to examine financial records, transactions, and other relevant data. Your work will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial operations and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Forensic Audits:
- Perform in-depth forensic audits of financial records, transactions, and operations to identify discrepancies, fraud, and other financial misconduct.
- Utilize specialized forensic accounting techniques and tools to analyze data and detect irregularities.
- Data Analysis:
- Collect, review, and analyze financial data, including bank statements, invoices, contracts, and other relevant documents.
- Data analysis software and techniques are used to identify financial transaction patterns, trends, and anomalies.
- Investigative Reporting:
- Prepare detailed and accurate forensic audit reports, documenting findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
- Communicate audit results and findings to stakeholders, including management, legal teams, and regulatory authorities.
- Fraud Prevention and Detection:
- Develop and implement strategies and procedures to prevent and detect fraud within the organization.
- Conduct risk assessments and identify areas of vulnerability in financial processes and controls.
- Compliance:
- Ensure that audits comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and forensic auditing practices to maintain compliance and best practices.
- Collaboration and Support:
- Work closely with other departments, including finance, legal, and IT, to gather information and support investigations.
- Provide expert advice and recommendations on financial controls, fraud prevention, and audit processes.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping:
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of audit procedures, findings, and evidence.
- Ensure all documentation is organized, secure, and accessible for future reference and review.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Forensic Accounting, or a related field.
- Professional certifications, such as Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or similar credentials, are highly desirable.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in forensic auditing, internal auditing, or a related field.
- Proven experience in conducting forensic investigations and fraud detection.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in forensic accounting software and data analysis tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings clearly and effectively.
- High level of integrity and professionalism, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Technical Requirements:
- Reliable internet connection and a suitable home office setup.
- Proficiency in using remote communication tools and collaboration platforms.
