Job Overview:

We seek a skilled and detail-oriented Remote Freight and Logistics Analyst to join our dynamic team. This role involves managing and analyzing freight and logistics operations to ensure smooth and efficient supply chain processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of logistics and transportation management. As a Remote Freight and Logistics Analyst, you will work closely with internal teams and external partners to optimize freight processes, reduce costs, and enhance overall efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Freight Management:
   • Oversee and coordinate the scheduling, routing, and tracking of freight shipments to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
   • Analyze shipping data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement cost-saving measures.
   • Manage relationships with freight carriers and logistics providers to negotiate rates, resolve issues, and ensure high service levels.
2. Logistics Optimization:
   • Evaluate and recommend improving logistics processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
   • Conduct regular analysis of supply chain operations, including inventory management, transportation, and warehousing.
   • Utilize data-driven insights to optimize transportation routes, load planning, and distribution strategies.
3. Data Analysis and Reporting:
   • Collect, analyze, and interpret freight and logistics operations data to support decision-making and strategic planning.
   • Prepare and present detailed reports to management on key performance indicators (KPIs), cost analysis, and operational efficiency.
   • Monitor and assess industry trends, regulations, and best practices to stay informed and ensure compliance.
4. Problem-Solving and Issue Resolution:
   • Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to freight shipments, including delays, damage, and billing discrepancies.
   • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to troubleshoot and resolve logistical challenges promptly.
   • Implement corrective actions and process improvements to prevent the recurrence of similar issues.
5. Customer Service and Communication:
   • Serve as a point of contact for internal stakeholders and external partners regarding freight and logistics inquiries.
   • Provide excellent customer service by promptly responding to queries, providing status updates, and addressing concerns.
   • Communicate effectively with vendors, carriers, and other partners to ensure the smooth coordination and execution of logistics activities.
6. Compliance and Documentation:
   • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures related to freight and logistics operations.
   • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all freight and logistics activities, including contracts, shipment records, and customs paperwork.
   • Assist with audits and inspections to ensure adherence to regulatory and company standards.

Qualifications:

• Education and Experience:
  • A bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in freight and logistics management, preferably in a remote or virtual environment.
  • Strong understanding of logistics and transportation processes, including freight forwarding, warehousing, and distribution.
• Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Proficiency in logistics software, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
