Job Overview:
As a Remote Gastroenterology Transcriptionist with Naukri Mitra, you will accurately transcribe medical reports, consultations, and diagnostic procedures related to gastroenterology. Your role will ensure that medical records are precise, comprehensive, and adhere to industry standards. We seek a professional with a strong background in medical transcription and an in-depth understanding of gastroenterology terminology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately transcribe dictations from healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and gastroenterologists, into electronic medical records.
• Review and edit transcribed documents for clarity, accuracy, grammar, punctuation, and adherence to established medical transcription standards.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations to secure all patient information.
• Understand and apply gastroenterology-specific terminology, anatomy, and procedures to produce high-quality transcriptions.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to clarify unclear dictations or verify patient information when necessary.
• Ensure all transcriptions are completed within the assigned timeframes, meeting deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
• Organize and maintain transcribed documents systematically to support medical staff and patient care.
• To accurately document patient information, transcription software, and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems are utilized.
• Maintain high attention to detail to avoid critical errors impacting patient care.
• Continuously stay updated on gastroenterology terminology, advancements in medical transcription, and best practices.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Medical Transcriptionist, preferably with a focus on gastroenterology.
• Proficiency in medical terminology related to gastroenterology, including diagnostic procedures, treatment plans, and anatomy.
• Excellent listening skills and the ability to understand a variety of accents and speech patterns from different healthcare professionals.
• Strong command of English grammar, punctuation, and language usage to produce accurate and coherent medical transcriptions.
• High level of attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies and inaccuracies in dictated reports.
• Proficiency in transcription software, EHR systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple transcriptions and meet deadlines consistently.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and communicate effectively with the healthcare team when needed.
• Access to a secure and reliable internet connection and the necessary computer equipment to perform remote work.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification as a Registered Medical Transcriptionist (RMT) or Certified Medical Transcriptionist (CMT).
• Previous experience working specifically with gastroenterologists or gastroenterology clinics.
• Familiarity with voice recognition technology and the ability to edit documents produced using such systems.
• Experience with quality assurance processes in medical transcription.
