Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately transcribe medical audio recordings related to gynecology, including patient histories, treatment plans, surgical procedures, and follow-up visits.
• Edit and proofread transcriptions for grammar, spelling, and medical terminology accuracy.
• Ensure all documentation adheres to HIPAA and other relevant data protection regulations.
• Format and organize transcripts according to the healthcare provider's standards and specifications.
• To ensure the transcription is precise and meaningful, it is crucial to maintain a clear understanding of gynecological terminology, treatments, and procedures.
• Manage multiple transcription tasks efficiently and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify ambiguities in recordings, ensuring the final transcript is accurate and complete.
• Stay updated on industry standards, medical terminology, and transcription technologies.
• Safeguard sensitive patient information and maintain confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Proven experience as a medical transcriptionist, preferably specializing in gynecology or women’s health.
• Comprehensive knowledge of gynecological medical terminology and procedures.
• Strong typing skills with a minimum speed of 60 words per minute and high accuracy.
• Proficiency in transcription software and medical documentation tools.
• Excellent command of the English language, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify errors in audio recordings and written transcripts.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and best practices for maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting, demonstrating reliability and professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in Medical Transcription or a related field.
• Previous experience working in a gynecology or women’s health practice.
