Job Overview
Naukri Mitra seeks an experienced and detail-oriented Remote Home Health Care Transcriptionist to join our client’s dynamic team. As a Transcriptionist, you will listen to audio recordings made by healthcare professionals, primarily home healthcare practitioners, and accurately transcribe them into written form. You will help maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation for patient health records. This role requires high focus, accuracy, and adherence to strict confidentiality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Transcribe Medical Reports: Transcribe audio recordings from home health care practitioners, including doctors, nurses, therapists, and other health care professionals, into written reports.
• Verify Accuracy: Ensure the transcribed content is accurate, complete, and adheres to all grammatical, spelling, and formatting requirements.
• Edit and Proofread: Proofread and edit transcriptions for accuracy, grammar, punctuation, and medical terminology to ensure quality documentation.
• Maintain Confidentiality: Handle sensitive patient information in compliance with healthcare regulations, such as HIPAA. Adhere to strict guidelines regarding the privacy of patient information.
• Work Collaboratively: Communicate with healthcare providers and other team members to clarify information or resolve any discrepancies in the transcription.
• Use Transcription Software: Use transcription software, medical reference materials, and other tools to help you transcribe and edit medical records effectively.
• Manage Time and Deadlines: Efficiently prioritize assigned tasks to meet deadlines while maintaining high accuracy.
• Follow Health Care Guidelines: Ensure all transcriptions align with industry regulations, such as HIPAA, and specific client protocols and guidelines.

Requirements

• Experience: Proven experience in medical transcription, preferably in a home health care setting.
• Medical Terminology Knowledge: Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology, particularly in home health care practices.
• Typing Skills: Excellent typing speed and accuracy, with a minimum speed of 60 words per minute.
• Software Proficiency: Using transcription software and other tools, such as word processing software, foot pedals, and speech recognition software.
• Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
• Time Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work and meet tight deadlines.
• Confidentiality: In-depth knowledge of confidentiality regulations, including HIPAA, and a commitment to maintaining patient privacy.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interaction with healthcare professionals and team members.
• Adaptability: Ability to work independently, adapt to different documentation styles, and handle multiple assignments.
• Remote Work Requirements: Must have a reliable internet connection, a quiet workspace, and appropriate equipment to perform the job efficiently.

Qualifications

• Educational Background: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional training or certification in medical transcription is highly desirable.
• Medical Transcription Certification: Certifications such as Registered Healthcare Documentation Specialist (RHDS) or Certified Healthcare Documentation Specialist (CHDS) are added advantages but are not mandatory.
• Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical transcription, preferably with home health care experience.
