Remote HR Compliance and Employee Relations Advisor

Position Overview:
We seek a highly skilled and experienced Remote HR Compliance and Employee Relations Advisor to join our team. This role ensures that our organization adheres to labor laws and regulations while maintaining positive employee relations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in HR compliance, employee relations, and conflict resolution and will be adept at handling various HR issues in a remote work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- HR Compliance Management:
- Ensure the organization’s HR policies and practices comply with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify potential compliance issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Keep up-to-date with changes in employment law and advise the organization on necessary updates to policies and procedures.
- Employee Relations:
- Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding HR-related questions and concerns, providing timely and effective resolutions.
- Address and mediate employee grievances and conflicts, ensuring a fair and unbiased process.
- Implement and monitor employee satisfaction and engagement initiatives to foster a positive work environment.
- Policy Development and Implementation:
- Develop, review, and update HR policies and procedures to meet legal requirements and support organizational goals.
- Provide guidance and training to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Ensure policies are communicated effectively and understood by all employees.
- Investigations and Compliance:
- Conduct investigations into employee complaints, allegations of misconduct, and other HR-related issues, ensuring thorough and impartial handling.
- Prepare detailed reports on findings and recommend appropriate actions or disciplinary measures.
- Training and Development:
- Design and deliver training programs on compliance, ethics, and employee relations topics to enhance employees' understanding and adherence to company policies.
- Assist in developing materials and resources to support ongoing employee development and compliance.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of HR compliance activities, employee relations issues, and related documentation.
- Prepare reports and summaries for senior management, highlighting key trends, issues, and recommendations.
- Collaboration and Support:
- Work closely with HR team members, managers, and other stakeholders to provide HR support and guidance.
- Collaborate with legal and external consultants to address complex compliance issues and ensure alignment with best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
- Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR compliance, employee relations, or a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Proven track record of successfully managing employee relations issues and conducting investigations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Experience in a remote work environment is preferred.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant software.
