Job Summary
We seek an experienced and dedicated HR Specialist to join our team remotely. The ideal candidate will handle various HR-related tasks, including recruitment, employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, and performance management. As a key member of our Human Resources department, you will work closely with the HR Manager and other team members to support employees, develop policies, and ensure that the company complies with labor laws and HR best practices.

Key Responsibilities
- Recruitment & Onboarding:
- Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and develop job descriptions.
- Manage the recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, interviewing, and offer negotiation.
- Ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the hiring process.
- Oversee the onboarding process for new hires, including completing necessary paperwork and coordination of training and orientation programs to facilitate a smooth transition into the company.
- Employee Relations:
- Act as the primary point of contact for employees regarding HR-related matters, addressing questions and concerns, and resolving conflicts.
- Facilitate positive employee relations by fostering a culture of open communication and feedback.
- Assist in mediating and resolving employee disputes, escalating issues as necessary to management.
- Guide employees and managers on HR policies, practices, and regulations.
- Performance Management:
- Assist in developing and implementing performance management processes, including goal-setting, performance appraisals, and feedback mechanisms.
- Support managers in addressing performance-related issues and providing constructive feedback to employees.
- Work with leadership to identify development opportunities and create training programs that enhance employee skills and career progression.
- Benefits Administration:
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.
- Serve as a resource for employees to explain benefits options and answer questions.
- Coordinate with external vendors and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to benefits.
- Manage employee leave programs, including FMLA, vacation, and other types of leave.
- Compliance & Policy Development:
- Ensure the company’s HR policies and procedures comply with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Stay updated on changes in employment legislation and recommend changes to company policies as needed.
- Assist in developing and enforcing company policies, ensuring consistency and fairness.
- Maintain employee records and HR databases, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Training & Development:
- Identify training needs within the organization and develop programs to address skill gaps.
- Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and other learning opportunities for employees.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make improvements based on feedback and outcomes.
- HR Reporting & Metrics:
- Prepare regular reports on HR metrics, such as turnover rates, recruitment data, and employee satisfaction.
- Analyze HR data to identify trends and make recommendations to management for improvements in employee engagement and retention.
- Remote Work Management:
- Support the unique challenges of managing a remote workforce by developing strategies to maintain employee engagement, productivity, and communication.
- Ensure that remote employees have access to necessary tools and resources, including HR support, training, and development opportunities.
- Help create and maintain a strong organizational culture in a remote work environment.
Key Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree in HR is a plus.
- 3+ years of experience in HR, focusing on recruitment, employee relations, and benefits administration.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Experience managing remote teams or employees is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in HR software and tools, including HRIS systems, applicant tracking systems (ATS), and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently remotely while managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Certifications such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP are preferred but not required.
