Job Summary:
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Remote Instructional Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating engaging, effective learning experiences and a solid understanding of instructional design methodologies, educational technology, and curriculum development. As a Remote Instructional Designer, you will be responsible for designing and developing training materials that support our organizationโ€™s learning and development initiatives across various formats, including e-learning courses, instructor-led training, and blended learning solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Course Design and Development:
    • Analyze training needs and collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to design, develop, and deliver effective learning solutions.
    • Use instructional design methodologies such as ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate) or SAM (Successive Approximation Model) to create courses and training programs.
    • Develop engaging and interactive e-learning content using a variety of authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar platforms.
    • Design assessments, quizzes, and other measurement tools to evaluate learner progress and course effectiveness.
    • Create instructor-led training materials, including presentations, facilitator guides, participant guides, and other instructional resources.
  2. Content Curation and Enhancement:
    • Research and curate content from multiple sources to develop comprehensive training materials that meet specific learning objectives.
    • Adapt existing training programs for different formats, such as converting in-person training into e-learning or virtual instructor-led formats.
    • Regularly update training materials to reflect new information, best practices, or feedback from learners and stakeholders.
  3. Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Work closely with subject matter experts, instructional technologists, and other stakeholders to ensure the accuracy, relevance, and alignment of learning materials with organizational goals.
    • Serve as the point of contact for instructional design projects, ensuring timely completion of tasks and managing communication with project stakeholders.
    • Provide instructional design support to trainers and facilitators, helping them effectively deliver the training content to learners.
  4. Learning Management System (LMS) Management:
    • Upload and manage courses in the learning management system (LMS) and ensure that all training materials are accessible to the appropriate audiences.
    • Troubleshoot technical issues related to course delivery within the LMS and provide support to learners and facilitators as needed.
    • Analyze LMS data to track learner progress, assess the effectiveness of training programs, and make data-driven recommendations for improvements.
  5. Evaluation and Improvement:
    • Develop and implement evaluation methods to measure the success of training programs, including learner satisfaction, knowledge retention, and performance improvements.
    • Collect and analyze feedback from learners, facilitators, and stakeholders to make continuous improvements to instructional materials and delivery methods.
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in instructional design, e-learning, and adult education to ensure our training materials remain current and effective.
  6. Technology Integration:
    • Explore and integrate innovative technologies and tools to enhance the learning experience, such as virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), gamification, or interactive simulations.
    • Ensure that training programs are mobile-friendly and accessible across various platforms, including desktops, tablets, and smartphones.
    • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for learners using new or complex technologies within the training programs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Educational Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or e-learning.
  • Proficiency in using e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar software.
  • Strong understanding of instructional design methodologies, adult learning principles, and best practices in training design.
  • Experience with learning management systems (LMS), including course uploading, management, and reporting.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about how to address learner needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masterโ€™s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience in developing mobile learning, microlearning, or adaptive learning solutions.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and guidelines for creating inclusive learning experiences.
  • Knowledge of multimedia tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere, etc.) for content development.
  • Certification in instructional design or project management (e.g., ATD Certified Professional in Learning and Performance).
