As the IT Consulting Director, you will be responsible for leading a team of skilled consultants, managing key client relationships, developing new business opportunities, and driving the growth of the consulting practice. Role Overview:
As a Remote IT Consulting Director, you will be responsible for the overall management of IT consulting services, including setting strategic direction, managing client engagements, and leading a team of consultants. You will work closely with senior leadership to define and execute the firm's vision for the IT consulting practice, expand service offerings, and enhance client satisfaction. This leadership role requires a deep understanding of IT strategy, project management, client engagement, and collaboration with cross-functional teams in remote work environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the strategic vision for the IT consulting practice. Develop a long-term strategy for growth and innovation, ensuring alignment with the firm's objectives.
- Client Engagement: Manage and nurture relationships with key clients as a trusted advisor on technology strategy and solutions. Understand client needs and challenges, provide value-driven solutions, and ensure long-term client satisfaction.
- Business Development: I will lead business development efforts, including identifying new opportunities, creating proposals, and closing deals. I will also work closely with the sales team to expand the client base and grow the consulting practice.
- Practice Growth: Expand the scope of services offered by the IT consulting practice. Develop service offerings, enter new markets, and recruit top talent to support the practice's growth.
- Project Oversight: I oversee the delivery of IT consulting engagements, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. I work with project managers to resolve challenges and meet client expectations.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of IT consultants. Foster a high-performance culture, encourage collaboration, and provide guidance to help team members grow and achieve their career goals.
- Service Excellence: Ensure the IT consulting practice delivers exceptional client service by implementing best practices, methodologies, and continuous improvement initiatives. Drive a culture of excellence across all engagements.
- Technology Trends: Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and market developments. Use this knowledge to identify opportunities for innovation and provide strategic recommendations to clients.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, operations, and finance, to ensure alignment with business objectives. Foster a collaborative work environment that supports knowledge sharing and teamwork.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to project delivery, client engagements, and practice growth. Develop contingency plans to address potential issues and ensure successful project outcomes.
- Financial Management: I oversee the economic performance of the consulting practice, including revenue, profitability, and budgeting. I ensure that financial goals are met and that the practice operates efficiently.
- Thought Leadership: Contribute to thought leadership initiatives, including publishing whitepapers, conducting webinars, and speaking at industry events. Represent the consulting firm as a subject matter expert in IT consulting.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, partners, and senior leadership, to foster relationships and ensure alignment with business objectives.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 12 years of experience in IT consulting, including at least 5 years in a leadership or director-level role. Proven track record of managing consulting teams and delivering successful IT engagements.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the IT consulting industry, including knowledge of market trends, emerging technologies, and best practices. Experience in digital transformation, cloud consulting, enterprise architecture, and IT strategy.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and lead a high-performing team—experience leading geographically dispersed teams in a remote environment.
- Business Acumen: Strong business acumen, able to identify opportunities, develop consulting services, and drive growth—experience with business development, sales, and client relationship management.
- Client Focus: Strong client engagement skills, focusing on delivering value and building long-term relationships—the ability to understand client challenges and provide strategic consulting solutions.
- Project Management: Strong project management skills, with experience managing complex IT consulting engagements. Familiarity with project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall.
- Financial Acumen: Understanding financial metrics related to consulting practice management, including budgeting, profitability, and revenue forecasting.
