Job Overview:
The Remote IT Procurement Consultant will oversee IT products and services sourcing, purchasing, and vendor management. You will ensure procurement practices align with industry standards and meet our client's business requirements. Your role will also be instrumental in negotiating contracts, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring that all IT procurement aligns with company objectives.
The ideal candidate is a procurement professional with significant experience in IT sourcing, an ability to understand complex technical requirements and a proven track record in vendor negotiations and cost management. You will be tasked with enhancing procurement efficiency, ensuring compliance, and contributing to the organization's bottom line.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Sourcing and Vendor Management
- Develop, implement, and manage IT procurement strategies to meet the organization's needs while minimizing costs.
- Identify, evaluate, and engage with potential suppliers to ensure the organization gets the best value for money.
- Establish strong relationships with IT vendors and service providers to secure favorable terms, support, and reliability.
- Contract Negotiations
- Lead contract negotiations with vendors and suppliers to ensure that terms are favorable, within budget, and meet the company's needs.
- Draft, review, and negotiate IT product and service agreements, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and corporate standards.
- Manage risk in vendor contracts, ensuring mitigation measures protect the organization from financial or operational exposure.
- Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, such as IT, finance, and operations teams, to understand procurement needs and align solutions accordingly.
- Collaborate with technical teams to understand IT infrastructure and software requirements and ensure that procurement efforts effectively meet these needs.
- Regularly meet with stakeholders to gather feedback, resolve concerns, and adjust procurement plans.
- Cost Optimization and Compliance
- Continuously analyze spending patterns to identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure procurement activities remain within budgetary limits.
- Develop and maintain procurement policies, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and industry best practices.
- Implement strategic procurement initiatives to achieve significant cost reductions while maintaining quality standards.
- Data Analysis and Reporting
- Monitor procurement performance metrics to assess efficiency, quality, and supplier performance and create comprehensive reports for management.
- Analyze market trends, pricing conditions, and industry developments to help make informed decisions regarding IT procurement.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, including supplier information, agreements, contracts, and correspondence.
Key Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT procurement or IT supply chain management. At least 3 years in a senior or leadership role in procurement.
- Procurement Skills: Strong knowledge of procurement methodologies, IT product categories, and experience in strategic sourcing.
- Technical Knowledge: This role requires an understanding of IT infrastructure, software, hardware, and other IT services.
- Negotiation Skills: Demonstrated experience in contract negotiations, vendor management, and cost management.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to convey complex information in a simplified manner.
- Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), or other relevant certifications are a plus.
