Job Summary:
As a Remote IT Project Manager, you will plan, execute, and oversee various IT projects from initiation to closure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, and ensure that projects are completed on time and within scope. This role requires a results-driven individual with excellent communication skills, leadership abilities, and a passion for delivering quality technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Coordination:
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and work breakdown structures for IT initiatives.
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, assign responsibilities, and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Identify and manage project dependencies, critical paths, and potential risks to ensure smooth execution.
- Team Leadership and Communication:
- Lead and motivate project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Facilitate regular meetings with team members to track progress, address challenges, and provide direction.
- Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing updates on project status, issues, and milestones.
- Ensure effective communication among all team members, stakeholders, and management throughout the project lifecycle.
- Budget and Resource Management:
- Develop and manage project budgets, tracking expenses and addressing any deviations promptly.
- Allocate resources effectively, ensuring the right talent is assigned to the right tasks to achieve project objectives.
- Work with procurement and other departments to acquire the necessary tools, technology, and resources to support project execution.
- Risk Management and Problem-Solving:
- Identify potential project risks, issues, and roadblocks and develop strategies to mitigate or resolve them.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify areas of concern and proactively implement mitigation strategies.
- Handle project escalations, resolve conflicts, and address issues as they arise to keep projects on track.
- Quality Assurance and Project Closure:
- Ensure that project deliverables meet quality standards and align with the stakeholdersโ expectations.
- Conduct testing and quality assurance activities to validate project outputs.
- Oversee project closure activities, including final deliverables, project retrospectives, and lessons learned.
- Document best practices and project insights to contribute to continuous improvement in project management processes.
Requirements:
- Bachelorโs degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as an IT Project Manager, successfully leading and delivering complex technology projects.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall.
- Experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, JIRA, Trello, or similar platforms.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to identify project risks and develop effective mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and handle challenges proactively.
- PMP, CAPM, or PRINCE2 certification is highly desirable.
- Experience working in a remote environment and managing remote teams is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in IT infrastructure, cloud computing, software development, or cybersecurity projects.
- Familiarity with change management processes, particularly in IT environments.
- Knowledge of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) and ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) frameworks.
- Exposure to managing projects involving cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) or digital transformation initiatives.
- Experience facilitating project retrospectives and implementing lessons learned to enhance future project execution.
- Familiarity with data analytics and reporting tools to track and present project metrics.
