Role Overview:
We seek an experienced Remote IT Vendor Management Consultant to join our team. In this key role, you will manage and optimize our clients' vendor relationships within the IT sector. As an expert in vendor management, you will ensure that service delivery meets contractual agreements and that vendors align with our client's business goals. This remote position allows you to work from anywhere, providing flexibility while significantly impacting organizational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vendor Relationship Management involves Building and maintaining strong relationships with IT vendors and ensuring they meet performance expectations and contractual obligations.
- Contract Negotiation & Management: Lead vendor contract negotiations, ensuring favorable terms and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Service Level Agreement (SLA) Oversight: Monitor and manage SLAs, ensuring vendors meet agreed-upon performance standards. Work with internal teams and vendors to address and resolve any performance issues.
- Vendor Performance Evaluation: Regularly assess vendor performance, provide feedback, and work collaboratively to drive continuous improvement.
- Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency across vendor contracts and service offerings without compromising service quality.
- Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with internal departments such as IT, procurement, finance, and operations to ensure vendor management aligns with the organization’s goals.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks associated with vendor relationships, including security concerns, compliance issues, and financial instability, and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
- Reporting & Documentation: Prepare detailed reports on vendor performance, contract compliance, and cost savings. Maintain accurate records of contracts, negotiations, and communications.
- Vendor Sourcing & Onboarding: Assist with identifying and onboarding new IT vendors, ensuring they meet company standards and align with business requirements.
- Market Research: Stay informed about market trends and emerging technologies in the IT vendor space, helping to position the company for future growth and strategic advantages.
- Continuous Improvement: Regularly assess vendor management practices and recommend improvements to ensure optimal outcomes for both internal teams and external partners.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an IT Vendor Manager, IT Procurement Specialist, or similar role focusing on vendor management.
- Strong understanding of IT products, services, and technologies.
- Solid knowledge of vendor management best practices and contract negotiation processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and sustain professional relationships.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and propose actionable solutions.
- Experience with vendor performance management tools, contract management systems, and other procurement software.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical skills to assess vendor performance, analyze data, and identify areas for improvement.
- Ability to work independently and thrive in a remote, collaborative environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Certification in Procurement or Vendor Management (e.g., Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Vendor Manager (CVM)).
- Familiarity with Agile methodology and its application in vendor management.
- Knowledge of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) practices and frameworks.
- Experience in cost analysis and financial management for vendor contracts.
