Job Description

We are seeking a Learning Experience Designer (LXD) to join our growing team. This is a remote role that offers the flexibility to work from anywhere. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing engaging, learner-centric educational experiences using the latest tools, strategies, and technologies. You'll work in a collaborative environment, helping to shape the future of online education by creating meaningful and impactful learning pathways for learners across a variety of subjects and industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Curriculum and Course Design:
    • Develop engaging and interactive curricula tailored to various learner profiles, industries, and content areas.
    • Work with subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure course content is accurate, relevant, and meets learning objectives.
    • Use instructional design theories, practices, and methods to craft educational materials that optimize learning retention and engagement.
  2. Learning Experience Development:
    • Design and implement comprehensive learning experiences that leverage modern educational technologies such as gamification, microlearning, and simulations.
    • Craft learning modules for multiple delivery platforms (e.g., Learning Management Systems, mobile applications, virtual classrooms).
    • Incorporate multimedia elements (videos, animations, interactive assessments) to enhance the learning journey.
  3. Assessment and Evaluation:
    • Design pre-assessments, formative, and summative assessments that measure learners’ progress and effectiveness of the course materials.
    • Use data analytics and feedback to iterate and refine learning experiences for improved performance and satisfaction.
    • Develop evaluation methods to measure the overall success of the learning programs and suggest continuous improvements.
  4. Content Creation and Curation:
    • Create and curate content for e-learning platforms, ensuring consistency, clarity, and accessibility.
    • Collaborate with content developers, graphic designers, and multimedia specialists to produce high-quality learning materials.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on best practices and emerging trends in online education.
  5. User-Centered Design:
    • Lead user research initiatives such as surveys, interviews, and usability testing to gather insights from learners.
    • Create learner personas, user journeys, and scenarios to develop personalized and targeted learning experiences.
    • Ensure all designs and developments are accessible to a wide audience, including those with learning disabilities or special needs, following ADA compliance where necessary.
  6. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, instructors, IT, and marketing teams, to align learning goals with overall business strategies.
    • Participate in regular project meetings, offering expertise and contributing to brainstorming sessions to drive innovation in learning solutions.
    • Act as a liaison between various departments to ensure a seamless workflow and effective communication throughout the project life cycle.
  7. Technology and Learning Management Systems (LMS):
    • Implement and manage LMS platforms to deliver online courses, track learner progress, and generate detailed reports.
    • Stay informed about the latest technological advances and tools, ensuring the seamless integration of new tools into the existing learning ecosystem.
    • Troubleshoot technical issues related to online course delivery and provide support for learners and instructors as necessary.
  8. Continuous Improvement & Innovation:
    • Constantly seek out new ways to improve learning experiences through innovative strategies, tools, and techniques.
    • Stay ahead of the latest developments in learning technologies, including AI-driven learning, adaptive learning, and virtual reality.
    • Attend webinars, conferences, and professional development courses to stay updated with industry standards.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in learning experience design or instructional design, with a portfolio of successful projects.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in eLearning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate), LMS administration (e.g., Moodle, Blackboard), and graphic/multimedia design software.
  • Understanding of Learning Theories: Expertise in instructional design models such as ADDIE, Bloom’s Taxonomy, and Kirkpatrick’s Evaluation Model.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Collaboration: Team-oriented with experience working in cross-functional environments.
  • Analytical Mindset: Data-driven with the ability to analyze learning analytics and iterate on solutions.
  • Creative and Strategic Thinking: Proven ability to think creatively and strategically to solve problems and design engaging learning experiences.
