Job Overview:
The Legal Transcription Clerk will transcribe various legal documents, including court proceedings, legal briefs, depositions, and correspondence. The ideal candidate should understand legal terminology well, have strong transcription skills and have a keen eye for detail. This remote position allows you to work from home while managing multiple transcription tasks effectively. Key Responsibilities:
- Transcription of Legal Documents:
- Accurately transcribe audio recordings, handwritten notes, and dictations into well-formatted legal documents, including court proceedings, depositions, legal briefs, and correspondence.
- Ensure all transcriptions adhere to legal standards, client requirements, and appropriate formatting guidelines.
- Proofreading and Quality Assurance:
- Review and proofread transcriptions to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to legal terminology and formatting standards.
- Identify and correct the transcribed documents' grammatical, typographical, or formatting errors.
- Understanding of Legal Terminology:
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and document formats commonly used in legal settings.
- Ensure all transcriptions accurately reflect the legal content's original meaning, context, and intent.
- Confidentiality and Data Security:
- Collaboration with Legal Team:

- Document Management and Organization:

- Track and manage multiple transcription assignments efficiently, ensuring timely completion of all tasks.

- Provide timely updates to the legal team on the status of transcription assignments and communicate proactively regarding potential delays.

Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A certificate in legal transcription or legal studies is preferred.
- Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience in legal transcription or a related role within a legal environment.
- Transcription Skills: Proven ability to accurately transcribe legal documents from audio recordings, handwritten notes, and dictations. Strong attention to detail and accuracy is essential.
