Job Summary:
We seek a detail-oriented and experienced Logistics Operations Analyst to join our dynamic team. Key Responsibilities:
1. Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data from various sources to evaluate the performance of logistics operations.
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and report on logistics efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and service levels.
- Generate regular reports and dashboards to provide insights into logistics performance, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
2. Process Optimization:
- Conduct a thorough analysis of current logistics processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement process improvements to optimize the flow of goods, reduce costs, and enhance overall efficiency.
- Utilize Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies to streamline logistics operations.
3. Inventory Management:
- Monitor and analyze inventory levels across various distribution centers to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize excess inventory.
- Collaborate with procurement and demand planning teams to forecast inventory needs and prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
- Implement inventory management strategies that balance cost and service level requirements.
4. Supplier and Vendor Management:
- Build strong relationships with key suppliers, vendors, and third-party logistics providers.
- Evaluate supplier performance and negotiate contracts to ensure favorable terms, pricing, and service levels.
- Collaborate with suppliers to resolve any delivery, quality, or performance issues.
5. Transportation and Distribution:
- Analyze transportation costs, routes, and delivery modes to identify cost savings and improvement opportunities.
- Work closely with transportation providers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods to customers and distribution centers.
- Optimize distribution networks to reduce lead times, improve service levels, and minimize transportation costs.
6. Risk Management:
- Identify potential logistics and supply chain risks, including suppliers, transportation, and inventory management.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize the impact of disruptions on the supply chain.
- Monitor global trends and events affecting logistics operations and adjust plans accordingly.
7. Technology and Automation:
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in logistics technology and software, including Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Identify opportunities to leverage technology and automation to improve logistics processes and reduce manual work.
- Lead or participate in the implementation of new logistics technologies and systems.
8. Cost Management:
- Analyze logistics costs and identify areas for cost reduction without compromising service quality.
- Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives, such as route optimization, shipment consolidation, and negotiating better rates with carriers.
- Monitor and control logistics budgets, ensuring that expenses are within approved limits.
Qualifications:
1. Education:
- Bachelorโs degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is required. A masterโs degree is a plus.
2. Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or operations analysis.
- Proven track record of analyzing and improving logistics processes and operations.
- Experience working in a remote environment is preferred but not mandatory.
3. Skills:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.
- Proficiency in logistics software and tools, including TMS, WMS, and ERP systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a remote work environment.
4. Certifications:
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), or Six Sigma are desirable but not required.
