Job Summary
We seek a dedicated and detail-oriented Remote Medical Transcription Consultant to join our client's medical transcription team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately transcribing medical reports, patient histories, diagnostic procedures, and treatment recommendations dictated by healthcare professionals. The role requires excellent attention to detail, strong language proficiency, and accurate interpretation of medical terminology. Key Responsibilities

• Medical Transcription: Listen to dictations from physicians and healthcare professionals, transcribing them accurately into well-structured documents. This includes medical records, operative reports, consultation notes, discharge summaries, and other pertinent healthcare documentation.
• Editing and Proofreading: Ensure that the transcribed material is grammatically correct, precise, and meets the standards required by healthcare providers. Proofread reports for accuracy, clarity, and appropriate medical terminology.
• Adherence to Guidelines: Comply with medical documentation standards, legal regulations, and confidentiality policies, including HIPAA compliance.
• Quality Assurance: Maintain high accuracy and attention to detail in transcription, aiming for error-free work. Identify discrepancies and inconsistencies in dictations, seeking clarification to produce precise reports.
• Collaboration and Communication: Communicate effectively with healthcare providers and team members regarding any unclear or missing information in the dictations. Work closely with the medical team to ensure clarity and accuracy in the transcribed documents.
• Timely Delivery: Complete assignments within stipulated time frames, managing multiple tasks efficiently while adhering to strict deadlines. This role requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work effectively.
• Utilize Transcription Software: Use relevant software and transcription tools to enhance productivity, improve the quality of transcriptions, and maintain consistency in the work produced. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems is preferred.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical transcription, preferably in a hospital or clinical setting. Experience working remotely as a transcriptionist is an added advantage.
• Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional certification in medical transcription (such as from AHDI) or medical terminology will be considered a plus.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology: Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, procedures, and treatment processes is essential for accuracy.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain accuracy and consistency in transcriptions, with strong proofreading skills to identify errors and discrepancies.
• Typing Proficiency: This role requires exceptional typing speed and accuracy. It also requires the ability to meet productivity targets without compromising the quality of work.
• Computer Skills: Familiarity with transcription software, Microsoft Office Suite, and electronic health records (EHR) systems. The candidate should be comfortable working with technology and adapting to new software.
