Job Overview:
The Remote Medical Transcription Manager will oversee a team of medical transcriptionists and ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with healthcare industry standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Team Management
• Oversee and manage a team of medical transcriptionists, ensuring all team members are productive, motivated, and equipped with the necessary skills.
• Assign work to transcriptionists and set clear expectations regarding deadlines, quality standards, and communication protocols.
• Conduct regular team meetings and one-on-one sessions to address challenges, provide performance feedback, and maintain team cohesion.
- Quality Assurance
• Monitor the quality of transcriptions by conducting audits, identifying errors, and providing constructive feedback to transcriptionists.
• Ensure that all transcriptions are completed accurately, adhering to healthcare compliance and privacy standards, such as HIPAA regulations.
• Develop and implement quality control processes to continuously improve accuracy and reduce the occurrence of errors.
- Training and Development
• Identify transcriptionist skills gaps and provide training or coaching to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Keep the team updated on changes in medical terminology, healthcare practices, and transcription technology.
• Develop training materials and organize workshops to help team members enhance their knowledge and skills.
- Operational Efficiency
• Work closely with management to develop effective processes for meeting transcription volume requirements within the deadlines.
• Monitor key performance metrics, including turnaround time, quality, and productivity, ensuring all deliverables are on track.
• Suggest improvements for operational workflows to ensure the transcription process is as efficient as possible.
- Client and Stakeholder Communication
• Serve as clients' primary point of contact regarding transcription-related inquiries, issues, and requests.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to understand specific transcription needs and ensure they are met accurately.
• Address client concerns or complaints, working to maintain strong relationships and client satisfaction.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Education and Experience
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in medical transcription, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
• Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, medical transcription, or a related field is preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, pharmacology, and healthcare documentation practices.
- Technical Skills
