Position Overview
The Remote Medical Transcription Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for ensuring the quality and accuracy of medical transcription services provided by our healthcare client. The role demands expertise in proofreading, editing, and reviewing transcribed medical reports to ensure compliance with the highest industry standards. Key Responsibilities

• Quality Assurance & Review: Perform comprehensive quality assurance checks on medical transcriptions to ensure accuracy and completeness. This includes checking grammar, spelling, formatting, terminology, and adherence to industry—and client-specific guidelines.
• Editing & Proofreading: I identify and correct errors in transcribed documents, focusing on medical terminology, grammatical accuracy, and document formatting. I also ensure consistency with established protocols.
• Compliance & Guidelines: Ensure all transcriptions comply with applicable guidelines, regulations, and confidentiality standards such as HIPAA. Adhere to company policies regarding patient information and medical data handling.
• Feedback & Training: Provide constructive feedback to transcriptionists to help them improve their quality and efficiency. Conduct training sessions to educate new team members on quality standards, medical terminology, and documentation best practices.
• Documentation Standards: Ensure compliance with all documentation standards, including client specifications, formatting requirements, and appropriate medical abbreviations.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with transcriptionists, team members, and clients to ensure clarity and consistency in the transcription process. Work with the medical transcription team to resolve discrepancies and maintain high levels of accuracy.
• Quality Reporting: Document quality assessment results, identify areas for improvement, and recommend solutions. Keep records of quality assurance activities and generate periodic reports on the quality of transcriptions.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with new developments in medical transcription and quality assurance best practices. Proactively suggest and implement improvements to quality assurance processes and workflows.
• Data Security: Ensure data protection protocols and policies handle patient records and sensitive information.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in medical transcription and quality assurance within the healthcare industry.
• Certification: Certification in Medical Transcription (CMT) or Registered Healthcare Documentation Specialist (RHDS) is preferred.
• Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, pharmacology, and procedures, along with familiarity with common medical transcription styles and practices.
• Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with strong proofreading and editing skills. Able to quickly identify inconsistencies and errors.
• Quality Focus: Strong quality focus and commitment to accuracy, including applying client-specific rules and recognizing errors without sacrificing productivity.
