Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Team Management
- Oversee a team of remote medical transcriptionists, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure quality output.
- I will serve as the team's primary point of contact, addressing questions, resolving conflicts, and promoting a positive and productive work environment.
- Develop and implement work schedules to ensure efficient use of resources and timely completion of transcription assignments.
- Foster an environment of continuous learning, professional growth, and collaboration.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure all transcriptions adhere to established accuracy, formatting, and quality standards.
- Conduct regular quality audits of transcribed reports and provide feedback to team members to maintain high accuracy.
- Monitor compliance with industry regulations, including HIPAA, to safeguard patient information and uphold confidentiality.
- Maintain updated knowledge of medical terminology, transcription guidelines, and best practices.
- Training & Development
- Train new hires on transcription software, medical terminology, guidelines, and company policies.
- Organize regular team meetings and provide training on industry standards, client requirements, and new technology changes.
- Develop training materials and assessment tools to evaluate and improve team members' skills.
- Operational Coordination
- Assign and prioritize transcription tasks to team members based on workload and deadlines.
- Monitor daily production reports and take corrective actions to ensure targets are met.
- Troubleshoot operational issues, such as technical challenges, and work with IT or management to resolve them promptly.
- Client Communication
- I will liaise between the transcription team and clients, ensuring clear communication about project timelines, requirements, and quality expectations.
- Address client feedback or concerns regarding transcription quality or turnaround time promptly and professionally.
- Reporting & Performance Management
- Generate reports on transcription productivity, accuracy, and quality and provide insights to senior management.
- Establish performance metrics for the team and monitor individual contributions against these benchmarks.
- Provide regular performance evaluations, recognize achievements, and identify opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelorโs degree or equivalent work experience in healthcare, medical transcription, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in medical transcription, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Technical Skills: The candidate must be proficient in transcription software, the Microsoft Office Suite, and medical terminology. Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems is preferred.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with clients, team members, and management.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to identify discrepancies and maintain high-quality standards.
- Time Management: Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Leadership Abilities: Demonstrated leadership skills with a track record of motivating and managing a remote team.
- Certifications: Certification as a Registered Medical Transcriptionist (RMT) or Certified Medical Transcriptionist (CMT) is a plus but not mandatory.
