Position Overview:
The Remote Medical Transcription Technology Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely transcription of medical reports, correspondence, and other essential documents. You will be responsible for transcribing physicians' notes and ensuring they are correctly formatted, organized, and documented within electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Your work will directly contribute to the efficiency of healthcare providers by allowing them to focus on patient care. In addition to transcription tasks, you will support and troubleshoot transcription technology to maintain the system's smooth operation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Transcription Tasks:
  • Transcribe dictated medical reports, correspondence, and various healthcare-related documents accurately.
  • Proofread, edited, and ensured that industry standards and healthcare protocols complete all reports.
  • Utilize medical transcription technology effectively to ensure the accuracy of patient records.
• Technology Integration & Troubleshooting:
  • Support the implementation of medical transcription software and integrate it into the healthcare workflow.
  • Diagnosed and troubleshot issues related to transcription technology, including speech recognition software.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations for software improvements, ensuring user-friendly transcription processes for healthcare professionals.
• Compliance & Quality Assurance:
  • Maintain strict patient confidentiality guidelines (HIPAA compliance) and ensure all patient information remains secure.
  • Conduct regular audits to verify the quality and accuracy of transcribed medical documents.
  • Stay up-to-date with medical terminology, clinical procedures, and industry best practices.
• Collaboration & Support:
  • Work closely with healthcare providers to address questions or discrepancies related to transcribed reports.
  • Assist in training healthcare professionals in the effective use of medical transcription technologies.
  • Participate in team meetings to enhance transcription workflow processes and suggest improvements.

Required Qualifications:

• Education & Certification:
  • Minimum of an Associate degree or a certificate in Medical Transcription, Health Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Certified Medical Transcriptionist (CMT) certification is preferred but not required.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical transcription, focusing on working in healthcare settings or remotely.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, procedures, and pharmacology.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and speech recognition software.
• Skills & Competencies:
  • Excellent attention to detail and high accuracy in transcribing and editing medical reports.
  • Strong proficiency in medical transcription software, digital dictation systems, and other relevant technology.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining excellent communication with healthcare professionals and team members.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for resolving issues related to transcription technology.
  • Proficient in grammar, spelling, and medical terminology.
