Key Responsibilities:

1. Medical Transcription
   • Listen to voice recordings from healthcare providers and accurately transcribe them into written reports.
   • Ensure correct grammar, punctuation, and formatting to maintain medical records that are clear and comprehensive.
   • Follow up with healthcare professionals to clarify discrepancies or confirm terminology when necessary.
2. Technology Utilization
   • Leverage advanced transcription software and technology to improve workflow efficiency.
   • Stay updated on the latest advancements in transcription tools and healthcare IT to maintain proficiency.
   • Troubleshoot and resolve fundamental software issues related to transcription tools.
3. Quality Assurance
   • Conduct quality checks on transcribed reports to ensure 100% accuracy under the highest medical standards.
   • Cross-reference reports with medical notes to identify and correct inconsistencies or errors.
   • Maintain HIPAA compliance by handling all patient information with the utmost confidentiality.
4. Collaboration
   • Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and support staff to ensure that all transcriptions meet the intended purpose.
   • Collaborate with other transcription specialists and IT professionals to refine processes and improve accuracy.
5. Data Management
   • Organize and maintain patient records in an electronic health records (EHR) system, ensuring all data is up-to-date and accessible for healthcare professionals.
   • Assist in maintaining proper indexing and categorization of transcriptions for easy retrieval by medical practitioners.
6. Time Management
   • Manage and prioritize daily workloads to meet tight deadlines, ensuring all transcriptions are delivered within the required timeframes.
   • Be flexible when working with diverse healthcare facilities and adapt to varying turnaround times.

Requirements:

• Education and Certification: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Certification in Medical Transcription, Medical Terminology, or a related field is highly preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a medical transcriptionist in a healthcare environment. Prior experience with remote work or familiarity with digital transcription tools is an asset.
• Technical Skills: The candidate must be proficient in medical transcription software, digital dictation systems, and the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience with EHR systems and knowledge of voice recognition software is also a plus.
• Language Skills: Strong command of English, with an exceptional grasp of medical terminology, grammar, and punctuation.
