Remote Payroll Manager

Position Overview:

We seek a highly skilled and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to join our team remotely. In this role, you will oversee all aspects of payroll processing and ensure accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in payroll management, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment. This position requires a strong understanding of payroll regulations, practical communication skills, and handling sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Payroll Processing:
   • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for a diverse and multi-state workforce.
   • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, including salaries, bonuses, commissions, and adjustments.
   • Review and reconcile payroll data, ensuring accuracy of calculations and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
   • Process and review payroll-related deductions, garnishments, and benefit contributions.
2. Compliance and Regulations:
   • Stay updated with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and ensure compliance with all applicable laws.
   • Implement and maintain payroll procedures to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies.
   • Prepare and promptly submit payroll reports, tax filings, and other required documentation.
   • Respond to inquiries from regulatory agencies and resolve any payroll-related issues or discrepancies.
3. System Management:
   • Utilize payroll software and systems to manage payroll functions efficiently.
   • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues related to payroll processing and reporting.
   • Collaborate with IT and payroll system vendors to ensure smooth system operations and updates.
4. Employee Support:
   • Serve as employees' primary point of contact regarding payroll-related questions and concerns.
   • Guide on payroll-related matters, including deductions, withholdings, and benefits.
   • Address and resolve payroll discrepancies promptly.
5. Reporting and Analytics:
   • Generate and analyze payroll reports to track key metrics and identify trends.
   • Prepare and present payroll data to management, including payroll costs and budgeting insights.
   • Conduct periodic audits of payroll processes to ensure accuracy and identify areas for improvement.
6. Process Improvement:
   • Continuously evaluate and improve payroll processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
   • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to streamline payroll operations.
   • Collaborate with other departments to ensure integration and alignment of payroll processes with broader organizational goals.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll management, with a strong understanding of payroll regulations and best practices.
• Proven experience with payroll software and systems, including familiarity with common payroll platforms.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
• Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with employees and management.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
